"I bought a 2004 Grand Am SE1 in July of 2004. It had 6800 miles on it. The car has been reliable but I was glad I bought the extended warranty. The Extra Warranty paid for itself. Had a new Water pump at 48,000 miles, Broken driver side window (Wouldn't go down) twice. It does handle great even with the 86,000 miles it has on it now.It has gone through its fair share of light bulb outages also, including the dash, the radio, taillights, and headlights. The dash was the hardest, the whole console had to be replaced along with the radio. I know I sound critical but it has never let me down, starts right up on the first try even at its now advancing age. I think its a car worth the money."

"this was a good car untill I hit about 140k, then look out. Im at 150k now and am having reccuring computer problems. The dash lights all come on about every month, there is no warning and half the time it wont start when the lights come on( security, abs and service vehicle soon.) Ive had to tow it to the garage four times in three months and gm refuses to help in any way. So when your grand am hits about 120k GET RID OF IT!!!!!"

"I can't believe how fast it is for the money. When i turn it on it feels like a true american muscle car. You really notice the extra power from the RamAir intake - I mean what other front wheel drive, front engine V6 can burn out at a light??? Insane! Don't worry. The electronic stability/traction control system helps you keep all that torque under control though. The rims are awesome too! Maybe it is an option, but the chrome rims are so stunning. The dealership told me they were $1,000 per wheel! I wasn't surprised, they look that nice. The rear spoiler rocks, and I love the monsoon sound system. It has XM radio and plays MP3 CDs too. I have had the same CD in with like 1000 songs on it for a month now and haven't listened to the same song twice! Overall, an amazing value. I feel like this car is a well-kept secret or something because you really don't see them everywhere like a toyota. Rock on america!"

"I really like my GrandAm!! I previously owned a 1999 GrandAm that never gave me any problems, so I decided to stick with them. The 2004 is a nice upgrade. The exterior is very sporty, especially with the GT wheels! The car handles pretty well and is pretty rooming inside. My whole family is pretty tall and the GrandAm has isn't too small for me or my husband. I've only put 48K miles on it, but so far I haven't had any problems. Good Car!!!"

"I have owned many vehicles in my short life, and by far my GT1 is the best i have ever had. It may be a used 2004(bought with 72200mi) I will say that the dash is quite clustered, but nothing can be perfect, so the car is a DREAM! LOVE IT, hands down. Has the get up and go, slows FAST, reliable, and smooth riding for the size of the car. LOVE it, but the GT1 is a cop magnet...ive been followed on a regular basis. I would recommend this vehicle to parents sending their kids to college, or parents just wanting to be cool, whatever your looking for, you found it with this car!!"

"Good car. Terrible Rear Defroster. One of the two Rear Defroster tabs came off the rear window. I was told by the dealership and other repair shops I would have to replace the rare window to fixed the Rear Defroster. There is nothing wrong with the window."

"Bought it used with only 5500 miles.Have since put 43,000 more on it.Engine is on par with the best four cylinders as far as power.Air conditioning needed replaced under warrenty. But other then that the car has been very reliable.Fit and finish is not as good as a toyota or honda but still very nice.Handleing is good and goes very good in the snow. I get between 30 and 34 MPG driving at 70-75 mph on the highway(It depends upon how cold it is outside)I used to drive a honda just before this and I wouldn't have given it all 5 stars. The grand am is just as good as my honda so far.I guess I'm just a hard grader."

"The 2004 Pontiac Grand Am is a FANTASTIC car. I bought mine used in March 2005 & I have throughly enjoyed it. It handles like a dream, & I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is looking for a reliable means of transportation. I have had NO problems of any kind with my Grand Am, & I would have to tell anyone looking for a dependable first car.that you should really check this one out. Gas milage varies between 17.5 & 17.7 city with A/C on, & I have gotten as high as 19.5 around town, but I wasn't running the A/C as much ( Oct. 2006). Anyone who may be searching for a first car for a son or daughter to drive to school, work, or college, should really check this one out."
