"I bought a Saab 9-3 Sports Sedan in 2007. This was a business car, because I drive 30,000 miles per year. Let me tell you that not only was this the most reliable car I ever owned, but it saved my son's life. First let me say that the car never had a single repair, and the original brakes went 70,000 before replacement. However, the car really did its job when my 24 year old son was in a serious accident with it. This car saved his life. The built in safety features plus the way the car was engineered resulted in my son walking away unscathed from a 70 mpg accident. My 9-3 is no more, but I am in the process of replacing it with the same model."

An improvement, sans some weirdness

"First of all, let me admit that I'm a five-time repeat offender in the SAAB department, having owned an 82, 88, 96, 00, and now this 2007 9-3 convertible. And as I did about 70,000 miles in my previous one, which was the previous body style, I'm in a pretty good position to judge the differences in this one. And I have to admit, the car was improved. Sadly, it seems to have lost a bit of its SAAB weirdness, but its an all-around better car. And I liked my 00 quite a bit; I would have kept it several more years had it not been destroyed in a flood. The six-speed manual transmission is a bit mushier in shifting than the previous one, but in any FWD car the linkage can never be as tight as with RWD, where the other end of the stick is actually moving gears around. But its not bad once you get used to it... and the ultra high 6th gear gives an honest 34 mpg highway when driven with cruise control in the 70s. Not too shabby for a car as peppy as this one. Front seats are very comfy, panel layout is excellent, back seats are a bit cramped, but its a smallish two-door car, so that's pretty much to be expected. The gadgets seem to work well, and intuitively, and as the 6-disk changer will play MP3 disks, I see no need to integrate an Ipod - I can get my favorite 1000 or so songs in there on MP3 CDs. If you disagree, there's a front-panel AUX jack provided for whatever music source you have handy. I think that the new convertible top design took away from the looks of the car a bit, but its much simpler mechanically, a definite plus. Apart from a bit of torque steering, handling is excellent, and the little 2-liter turbocharged/intercooled motor does a fine job, with reasonable fuel economy (thought it does need to burn premium). Resale value for SAABs isn't great, which is a big plus if you're buying used; compared to a comparable BMW, Audi, or Mercedes, you can get a lot more for your money if you're shopping for a clean used one. Bottom line - the only real problem I've had with the car is that after I drive it with the top down I get an ache in my jaw... from smiling so much!"

"I can't say enough about my 2007 9-3 saab. It has 30,000 miles and I have had it over 2 /2 years and I love it like the first day I got it. At work, I park it so I can see it out the window when I am in the halls and when I stretch my legs in the parking lot I just stare at it. Obsessed, yes! They are just so unique looking and looks nice and sporty. It is not an aero so the pick up isn't the best, it is good enough though, but it is so smooth when it switches gears. The interior is also eye pleasing and I love the dash and the little quirky saab only features. I have only had 2 problems, the first was a bad gas pump which left me stranded when I first got it, but they were great about fixing it quick and the lining around the back window is falling apart on the outside, FL sun I presume is the culprit, but only cosmetic. SO I am completely happy with my 9-3 and SO happy some one bought them from GM so that SAAB can live on and I can purchase another."

"High quality, best safety rating makes my 2007 93 Aero not only a blast to drive but practical. I've fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the trunk with the top down. The 2.8 6 cylinder engine has tons of torque for strong performance through out all speeds and all gears (I have the 6 speed manual). Features galore including rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers and gorgeous leather seating put this car in good company. Front wheel drive allows this vehicle to be a true all weather convertible and I never fail to get "nice car" comments."

"A great vehicle, incredible features at a great price. The automatic roof hides away in the trunk and leaves enough room for the golf clubs. Handles great at highway speeds."

"Haven't had the car long. I bought it used from a Chevy dealer in PA. Car ride's really smooth, plenty of torque. Have to say it is luxurious and sporty. Seats are parchment with grey rugs and a black dashboard. Really nice interior overall. The exterior is white. Not my favorite color. The decision was made on how it rode and the price! Drove 3 saab convertible's before buying this one. Wish I could of purchased the Aero version. That was another $4,500.00 more than this car."

"I have now owned this dream car for just one month, so can't really speak to sections like reliability very well, BUT I CAN SPEAK TO THE PERFORMANCE!!! All I can really say is that I have NEVER owned a car like this before! This is twice the car of any I have ever owned (all US domestic cars). It brings back the excitement and enthusiasm I had as a High School Senior when I owned a Chevy Camaro. I had begun to think I could never be excited about a car again at my age (48), but I just hadn't tried the right car!!! WOW! Love it!"
