Consumer Reviews
"I've owned my Saab 9-5 Wagon since it was brand new in April 2002 - what a great vehicle! VERY comfortable for road trips both long and short (driven to/from FL for Christmas twice and also the vehicle used for New England Antique-ing jaunts on week-ends.) The car is now nearly 6 years old - and I've had to have a new battery, tires, front brakes, in the past few years - but nothing extraordinary. The heated and ventilated front seats are terrific, the "way-back" station wagon area has a folding shelf that keeps things out of the direct sunlight and away from prying eyes. And the rear seats fold down - I'm able to carry 9 bags of leaves to the compost heap in town in a single trip! The climate control system is FANTASTIC. You set it up once for the temperature you want, and it does everything else. GREAT! Volume controls for the sound system are on the steering wheel - which is a nice convenience. The front seats are adjustable (comfortable for drivers from 5' 5" to 6' 2") - The rear bench is fixed - comfortable for two passengers - a little close for 3 adults. I also highly recommend the dealership service (especially the one local to Wakefield MA). The tech's there really know the vehicle - do an excellent job - and try hard to keep the cusomer INFORMED -which I really appreciate. The Station Wagon styling isn't very exciting, and the handling, because of the long wheel base, isn't sporty, but that's part of the trade in getting a wagon. Also, Saabs aren't cheap, so maybe something else would cost less, but I can't imagine it would be as comfortable a car."

"Move over CUV's and SUV's (& SAV's) -- this car holds more "stuff" and is still fun to drive and manuver around town. At 65mph (and A/C off), I can get 33+MPG and average about 26MPG on my weekly fill-ups (about 500 miles). Best feature is the hard cargo cover for the hatch. Volvo, Mercedes, BMW, and all the lesser wagons all have a cheap "roller-shade" instead. And the seats fold completely flat w/o having to remove headrests. Solid car, great style, easy on tires, gas and brakes, and excellent safety features. Just hope that SAAB keeps building them and doesn't create a GM-clone car like the 9-7x in the future."
