"Love the car; a very fun ride. Sadly, I am also having paint problems. At 5K miles, the first few paint chips. Looked like I took a bunch of rocks to the hood, which was odd as no one drives it but me and I don't recall EVER hearing anything hit the car. I don't tailgate, don't drive on gravel roads, don't live in an area with freezing temps.... Now at 9K miles, there are more than 25 places with paint chipping off. Dealer says paint chips are not covered. My previous 2 subarus didn't have more than 1 or 2 paint chips in >200K miles. We have 3 other cars, no paint chips on any of them. Very disappointing."

I thought I was buying my dream car...

"Previously I drove a 2003 Olds Alero with 200K miles. Naturally, the car kicked the bucket. I decided that I was going to buy my first 'big girl' car, and easily settled on the hot Subaru Impreza, Hatchback. I waited almost 4 months on the car, so I was very excited when it arrived. Almost immediately I experienced issues with the paint. I had a 4 inch scratch on the front hood that I noticed after the first few days. I park in a garage and never next to shrubbery, etc. I took it to the dealer, and they told me it was a manufacturers defect under the clear coat. They fixed it the best they could at that time. Since then, I have had NUMEROUS issues with the car: my seat pilled up badly after vacuming it and had to be replaced (simple shop vac), my radio freezes and wont turn off, blue tooth randomly drops, my passenger airbag randomly turns off when there is a passenger in the seat, and above all- there are scratches all over it... its even rusting. I received my car in Fed, 2012 and it has less than 10K miles. I have no kids, and I do not beat up on it--- afterall, its my first 'big girl' car, so I am taking super good care of it! While I want to fall in love with this car, I simply can not. I am having more issues with my 2012 Impreza than with my 2003 Olds Alero. I have a call into Subaru North America where hopefully they will address these issues. I purchased this car because the Subaru brand stands for durability, reliability, and quality--- I would say that my car has fallen short."

"I've had my 2012 Impreza for over a month. So far, it's everything I hoped for. I opted for the manual transmission even though the CVT supposedly gets better mileage. I do a mix of highway and city driving, and I've averaged over 35 mpg (my actual measurements) on my last two tanks of gas. I got the Premium because I wanted seat warmers and a better sound system. The car is iPhone-ready and my iTunes sound great through the stereo system. This is my second Subaru - I just gave my first one to my daughter since it has only 143,000 miles on it. With the new Impreza, Subaru produced an AWD car with excellent fuel economy that's fun to drive."

"This is my first new car in quite a while so I did a lot of research before opting for the Impreza. I really wanted to try to buy American but no American Car Maker offers anything like the Impreza. Good looks, comfortable, great gas mileage, and of course, AWD. I ended up ordering a car the end of March because I could not find one equipped the way I wanted at any of my local dealers. I picked the car up a few days ago and I couldn't be happier. I was a little concerned about real world gas mileage based on things I've read on the web, but that concern was unfounded. I've got a few hundred miles on the car and am averaging 35 MPG with mostly back road driving. I know a lot of people are critical of the CVT but I think it's great. It seems to wring the most out of the smallish motor and makes it feel very peppy. The interior of the car is very nice and I especially love the leather seating... well done Subaru. I owned an Outback and a Legacy GT previously, and this is without a doubt a huge step forward for Subaru. I am still trying to figure out how to pair my phone with the Bluetooth and also how to set the Homelink to open my garage door, but I am sure those two problems are more user error than anything to do with Subaru. I am very, very happy with this car and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a small practical sedan or wagon."

"This car seems like it was very well designed. I haven't had the car long enough to have any problems yet. For being a sporty car it gets decent gas mileage. I like this car so much that I want my wife to get one too."

"The 2012 model improved on the following things from the 2011 model: gas mileage (I get a combined 29 mpg), roomy interior, and interior material. It's a very spacious compact and has a great turning radius. The AWD provides excellent traction. You do hear the engine more than other cars on the highway but it's not too loud. I highly recommend this car to friends."

"I love to drive cars. We have a 4 motion Volks. This is our first time for Suburu. My first impressions is excellent for this 2012 Impreza. The steering is tight like a great German vehicle. This car is tight at 75 mph. The AWD gives overall excellent sticking power. I am 6' 2" and the back seat is actually good with minimal head bumpers. The steering with tilt and telescopic helps provide the necessary fit you need for a great steering position. The hatchback model really gives you great flexibility with storing stuff. You know we all have to move stuff at times. We opted with the Limited edition. For the extra money you get a lot of extra options including leather seats. I am looking forward for winter to see how the AWD works in the snowy midwest climate. Thumbs up and Banzi for this Bahn Stormer, you really can not go wrong for the money and regular unleaded gasoline conumption, thank you Subaru."

"I bought a Subaru because I wanted something all wheel drive but hated driving large vehicles. I test drove a few cars before making my purchase simply to make sure I was making the right decision for me. I will say that I ended up purchasing the Limited model of the car and I love all the special perks it came with. The sliding arm rest is slightly lower than I would like it to be, but the sun roof, fog lights and all weather mats that were included were great. I have driven this car over 3000mi in the first month of owning it, and many of those miles were in the famous down pouring rain of SC. The Impreza handles magnificently, so glad I found this car!"
