"I will start off by saying I love this car! The cons are: The performance of the vehicle is yet but slow, but hey what do you expect when trying to get the most MPGs out of a AWD car? The fact that if you dont push on the gas like most poeple do you can go a long ways without filling up, and thats doing 50/50 city/highway. The pros: I love the way a Subaru drives. Its true what they say in how it handles and rides. The outside is pretty cool and sleek. The interior is nice and not too complicated. All around you get what you "need" for the money. Currently have no issues and I have over 700 miles on the OD."

"We have had our iimprezafor only a month, but I LOVE It. It handles really well; gas mileage is great.I don't find it noisy, which was a concern in Consumer Reports. It is roomy inside. My only negative is I find it difficult to see around the head rests when I am checking for on coming traffic from the passenger side .Other than that it is a great car."

Subaru Impreza - very good and very bad together

"Overall I love my Impreza but it has one major defect and a few minor problems. The bluetooth/audio system has terrible software and does not work well at all. I have an iPhone and it does not connect very well. I can't load my phonebook, it is limited to 50 phone numbers and the voice system for getting your numbers into the phone is painfully bad. It is so klutzy is hard to believe that it is in a 2013 car. Subaru should be ashamed that they have included this in one of their cars. It has trouble recognizing voice commands, gets confused easily, is very slow and clumsy to use, Turns out the dealer knew all about this issue but gave me reassurances that it could be overcome, which is not true. I may have to buy an aftermarket system to replace it. Other minor issues - there is a bit of a small blind spot due to the hatchback design and the mirror don't quite give you a maximum view to the rear due to their rectangular shape. The car drives very well, is very peppy and corners beautifully, the paddle shifters are a dream, and the braking system is very smooth and responsive. It really sticks to the road and is fun to drive. Overall I am very pleased with the car but very upset about the poor performance of the audio system and the dealer's failure to help"

"Wow, what a difference a year makes, the new 2013s have sleek styling and our came fully loaded with Navigation System and Back-Up Camera. While the Hands Free is "OK" the XM Upgrade sound system is pretty good. We have been averaging 32 MPG around town which was a pleasant surprise, though I have yet to see 36 MPG on the freeway. If you are tall (6'2" plus) than check out the Subaru Impreza, I'm 6'3" and I fit in both the front and back seat comfortably with decent leg room compared to other cars in this class. For the money and reliability, you can't beat a Subaru Impreza..."

"I drove off the lot with my new Impreza 3 weeks ago, and since then have had 3 snowstorms to contend with. This car drove through unplowed streets and slushy surfaces without even blinking. It is the first time ever that I haven't had to contend with getting stuck! I chose the hatchback model for the convenience, but I fell in love with the styling when I saw another one on the street while I was still trying to decide what car to buy. I love the AWD, Bluetooth, and inside styling as well. Would definitely rcommend this car."

"This is my fourth and last Subaru Impreza! For a car that was rally inspired, I really struggle to work out which rally inspired this? From my first Impreza in 1997 I have always loved the nimble handling, acceleration and overall thrill of driving the car. So to the new car, it sounds like a hair-dryer that is on the way out. The interior is bland, the handling is sluggish, the brakes are spongy. There is so much turbo lag on the car that pulling out into traffic is dangerous and annoying. I have had this car for 3 months, and I am already looking to trade it in for something else. I would take my daughters 1.6l 2008 Ford Focus over my 2.5l Subaru Impreza. I will never buy another Impreza again, and I am sure Colin McRae (who took the Subaru to WRX glory would be turning in his grave at what they have done to what was an amazing car)."

"Pros, and there are some: Looks great, comfortable inside, leather seats for Ltd. model are nice, great visabililty, feels bigger inside than it is, good luggage space. Great rearview camera. Cons: Underpowered; really noisy if you are climbing anything, and thats with just one or two people; hate to think how it'll be fully loaded. Red dashboard is irritating, Mileage is nowhere near what they say - 23 is the overall, and thats with half or more on the freeway. Radio is all elctronic touch, ie like an Ipad, but way too small to do comfortably while driivng, or even stopped. Saving the dumbest for last: Every time you use Navigation, you have to touch the "I agree" button.. Even if you agreed a thousand times before.. Got a thousand miles now, and I would not buy it again..Sad, since I love my wife's 2011 Impreza.."

"I knew I wanted to buy a Subaru, it was between the Imprezza and Forester and after driving the Imprezza the decision was easy! I love the AWD, the handling is fantastic and extremely responsive. The CVT transmission is very smooth and isn't as big of a deal as some people try to make it out to be, it's just different. Gas mileage is my only real complaint, even driving more conservatively I'm still only getting 31-32mpg on the highway which is what I was getting with my 2003 Hyundai Elantra I traded in, so at least it isn't worse. Cargo space is awesome and the layout of controls is great. I got the base model 2.0i and was very surprised to see it came with the bluetooth audio streaming and handsfree phone which works great! I have no regrets, I absolutely love this car!"

"I just picked up my new premium hatchback about a week ago, and I absolutely love it. Living in an area that averages 100+ inches of snow a year makes this an optimal vehicle. The heated seats/mirrors are wonderful and quite handy. Blind-spots are minimal, and the front seats are comfortable. I test drove the CVT version and just couldn't stand the delay in acceleration; so I opted for the 5-speed manual and it's much more responsive. That said, this vehicle really needs to be a 6-speed because faster freeway driving really drives the rpms quite high. This could be the key contributor as to why the CVT gets better mileage on the highway. The clutch is very easy to work, and the engine is still rather quiet for a manual."

"I have the hatchback with CVT and premium with weather package which means added traction control, added heated seats, deicer, etc..I also have the power moonroof and LOVE my car. One thing must be noted, I have never had a speeding ticket, and my driving record is spotless. Meaning a WRX or STi would be a waste of money for me, so I knew what I was buying. This car handles perfectly, AWD, and best gas mileage of any AWD car on the market. The impreza hatchback's new bodystyle has made friends and family think I had a VW Golf at first. I made sure to get the extended warranty to 100k miles instead of the standard 36k because I will probably have this car for 8-10 years, if not longer. I have always liked hatchbacks and having this 4 door with a power moonroof gives me everything I need. I work in an office job and in the spring/summer go fishing/camping and even considering of the next time I camp to just fold the seats down and sleep in my car instead of pitching a tent :). I find more excuses to drive this car that I haven't done in years...the last 6-7 years I owned a RWD small pick up truck that doesn't handle half as nice as my impreza.. I only kept the truck for those times I want to do dump runs or pick up heavy stuff..but the subaru impreza hatchback is for everything else that requires driving in my life!"
