Consumer Reviews
"My first review was July 12 when I bought the car. Here is the follow up. Handling is really nice locally and on highway. Heated seats are so nice and heat up quickly--my wife loves that. Radio sounds very good. Plently of power with the 2.5 and cvt. After driving this newly designed cvt you'll wonder when all cars will "shift" to it. Essentially, Subaru hit a home run here. I love my Mazda 6 and 3 as well but the Suby is so much fun to drive. Can't wait for snow to really see it's strengths. I had a 97 legacy wagon for 230k and finally got tired of it. This new puppy is different from the ground up. Just hope it lasts as long. I'm averaging 27 plus mpg. That's amazing for a fairly heavy and quite powerful awd car. Have gotten 35 or more hypermiling on the highway. I didn't bother testing a lot of cars when I bought it. It was a one day decision and got a good deal same day. I know quite a bit about cars and Subaru is one special company. This is the best product they have made to date. Mazda has a new 6 coming out soon, the 2014 model. It will be amazing. (I have a 2009 and like it). The new one will have the Skyactiv engine and drive train so the mileage should be excellent. Give that car a shot when it comes out in January or so unless you have to have awd. I've had Hondas and Toyotas in the past. They're just a little boring now. Good luck."

"I have a 2010 and today was in a car accident where i was hit on the right side of my car, with a passenger in it. I have to say I have never been more thankful for this car in my life. The car was impacted hard on the side, making the wheel alignment messed up and immobile. We barely felt any impact, and neither of us are injured. I strongly believe that if we were in any other car we would of been seriously injured. This car not only looks beautiful, especially in white, it drives smooth, it comes with great interior options, and is so safe. I love this car and would recommend this to anyone! I am only 20 years old and hopefully (after repairs) can drive this car another 10 to 15 years."

"Right now dealers have to push out 2012...but consider 2013..I traded 2011 cause i test drove 2013. Traded following reasons. ! 2012 interior cloth different..2013 much improved. Many more options on 2013 standard. CVT on 2012 noisey sluggish..slow respond 2013 corrected. The torque for ramp merging much much improved. better pick up. Body roll less drive a 2012 fast body sways. 2013 drives tighter more control.MUCH BETTER 2013 model...Might get thousands off a 2012 but 2013 completely different"

"I have owned a Honda for over 16 years, and I did a LOT of research before buying the 2013 2.5 Limited Legacy. I actually wanted an SUV like an Acura MDX, for the AWD and lots of room for a carseat and baby stuff. But I also wanted high MPG, but I didnt want to give up AWD. I have abuot 1250 miles on the car now, and I got 34 MPG overall on the last tank of gas, which was actually during break in, and I was on and off the throttle to vary RPM. I think I can hit 35-36 highway. One of my biggest concerns was the sluggish-ness of the 4 cyl. The 2013 has the new FB engine, and is very zippy. Slowness weighed heavily in my decisions. It is geared very well and I am happy with my choice. No regrets."

"I did not even have this car on radar when I first started looking. I had test drove the Hyundai Sonata turbo & Ford Fusion SEL as most notable in class to this car along with a bunch of other suv vehicles. I walked away with the 2013 vs the 2012 for two reasons. The 2013 now has a timing chain, one less thing to deal with when close to 100K also the 2013 just seemed to have a bit better handling then the 2012. I am also happy with the large interior. I would recommend if your looking to give this car a test drive that car. Avg right now about 28.5-29 miles on gas per gallon with just over 2800 miles on the car."

"I love my car ! It' almost perfect for me. The engine has lots of power with decent mpg. The car has the navi& eyesight package so it has plenty features but not the blind spot monitor , the sound system is very good - harman- kardon 440w. The driver's seat seams a littel outcentered to the right, but maybe only mine. Good tires , good breakes. Transmision needs to be more modern !!! but still is a good, reliable transmision! It's my 3rd suby legacy and it 's the best so far ! Love it and I do recomand the eyesight!"

"Just got it today but anxious to be the first to review at this site. There is very little info on the 2013 Subaru Legacy so I will express my initial reactions now and do a follow up in the future. My Premium model with Graphite Gray exterior and black interior looks very sharp. The 2.5 engine seems to help you get out of your own way pretty quickly. The car feels so well planted to the ground it's like there are magnets underneath. That's the all wheel drive and low center of gravity. I saw it at the New york car show and they really loved the improvements over the earlier model. My timing for needing a new car was very good since these are just arriving at dealerships. They have lots of 2012 stock and may push to get rid of it so you could save on a leftover. I was determined to go 2013 and it feels great. I never drove the 2012 so can't give a comparison here. The steering feels precise and not light. In contrast, my Mazda 6 (2009) which I like also has lighter steering with less feedback. My Mazda 3 has a lot of feedback and is very precise. The new Subaru is comfortable, nice lumbar control in the power seat, good sounding radio thanks to the six speaker system. On the ride home, it was getting around 27 mpg. Mostly local roads and hills. I can see a good highway mpg potential but city driving will probably take a hit. It seems like a lot of car for the money, nice fit and finish, quiet, smooth suspension, good visibility, almost European feel and styling. Wow, Subaru has finally done it. If you are looking for a step up sedan with all wheel drive and a reasonable price tag you've arrived. More to come after extensive use."
