"The vehicle was exactly as advertised. Very clean with no body damage, no leaks, drove and ran like new. We have owned for about a month and are very happy with our purchase. The Outback has the same cargo space as our Santa Fe but gets much better gas mileage. At times, over 37 MPG. Last tank of city and highway driving I averaged over 32 MPG."

"I was surprised by this 4 cylinders car with a kick in its power for acceleration. AWD is a standard; decent interior design and gas mileage for my bucks. Just loving it. Happy customer"

"let me start out by saying that Ive owned a lot of cars both sports cars and pickups.I believe that subaru has the best all wheel drive system in the business and yes that includes audi.I have had several toyota tacomas and the subaru all wheel drive is almost as good as my taco.That being said I will tell you what I like and what I don't.I have the 3.6 outback limited.highway miles is about 24 to 26.The car has excellent power.I would not own this car with a 4 cyl.thats just me.The seats are just ok.they could be longer.audio is good.now for the most negative.on a 7500 mile oil change using mobile 1 The car uses 3 quarts of oil.Why?Subaru says its ok I say its not.I have never put a quart of oil in any of my cars some of which were high performance.I really like the car but not the oil issue."

"My 2011 Outback is a "special" car, and not stock, since you cannot get the combination of options that mine has on any lot. Someone saw fit to aftermarket this one with a 6spd manual (only comes on base model with minimal options), heated leather, power moonroof, all-weather pkg, upgrade Harmon-Kardon stereo, etc. It is loaded. I bought it because I wanted leather and a MT, and after visiting and calling around to several dealers who said the object of my desire did not exist, I put my request into newcars.com. An hour later my vehicle was found. This 6 spd gets 34 mpg on the highway/500+ miles to tank!"

"Many times when you read reviews for cars, the driver has only had the car for a few months which doesn't give you an idea of how the car performs in the long run. I commute between NC and VA every week and have put on 90K miles on my '11 Subaru Outback since I bought it in October 2010. I've also taken my family often to the beach and to the mountains in NC. MPG consistently averages 25 overall. Most importantly for me, the car drives fantastically through any type of weather. I have driven in hard rain, snow, mix, and heat waves. My car cuts through any weather easily with its AWD while many other similarly-equipped vehicles are struggling (I'm on my second set of tires which are top of the line Goodyear tire). Safety on the road was my greatest concern and reliability was second. I have kept up the scheduled maintenance, oil changes, and tire rotations and the only issue to report is I seem to burn out my headlamps faster than normal (1 pair/year). Other than that, the car has had no problems. I'm still stunned given my history with Fords and BMWs I've owned and paid repairs in blood for. As for Comfort, the only complaint I have is that the seats give me hotspots after 2 hours of driving. I've added specially-padded seat covers which help. Love the sound system and the roominess for passengers. Overall, a great car for family outings and serious commuting on aggressive highways and unpredictable weather."

"I have had my Subaru Outback for 1 1/2 years 20,000 miles. I don't want to discourage you from buying one. The front and rear bumpers do not protect the car panels. The bumper does not extend beyond the car panels enough. The noise level from the ventilation fan is too loud. The passenger seat is too low and its sun visor is a duplicate of the driver side and so too high. Where is the innovative wrap-around sunvisor to block that little corner of light that comes in when you turn ? The front cup holder & radio position in the Forester was better, & the side pockets, lose everything on sharp turns The hold down clips are plastic and there are only 2; the car needs 8. The roof rack is too short. The center rear-view mirror is 1" too low and the rear window too narrow. The lights are great for around town, but on a highway, over 55, are too low, ( set to factory specs) and so inadequate, and unsafe. The hood is too high for good curb visibility and the driver seat is uncomfortable. Air conditioning is fine, but the heater system is not up to heavy sleet or freezing rain. Fresh air ventilation setup is poor, and is terrible and in the rain. All in all the car is worth the money for adequate, a reasonably comfortable ride, underpowered, good for short distances, seems safe in dry weather, gets 30 on the road and the brakes work. People complement me on the pretty color, but don't offer to buy it. I don't recommend it."

"I bought my 2011 Outback toward the end of the model year after wanting one for years. After 6 months, I'm very satisfied with this car. The styling and comfort is very good, and this car does everything I need it to. My only regret is that I went with the 6-cyl model, which turned out to be more than I needed. I thought I'd need it for trailering my motorcycle (which it does, with aplomb, even up mountains), but I later learned it didn't get my that much extra towing capacity -- just 300 extra pounds. It's great to have such snappy pickup (it goes like a banshee when you step on the gas). The unfortunate trade-off is MPG. I'm only averaging 20 mpg, whereas the 4-cyl with CVT would be giving me 5-6 extra MPG. Pros: Great interior/exterior quality, great sound system (if you get the upgrade Harmon-Kardon system), great comfort and ride quality, great value relative to competing cars. TONS of cargo room. Cons: MPG (with 6 cyl). Handling is slightly sloppy compared to older Outbacks, which were smaller. The front seat pans are about an inch or two shorter than I'd like. Last tip: Avoid the Subaru Navigatino system. It's expensive, and extremely outdated in terms of graphics and interface. Just buy an aftermarket one for a fraction of the price."

"This car is outstanding, not great in terms of performance, but it is solid and trustworthy like an old friend. When behind the wheel one gets the full safety treatment, which means that your confidence level is high. Although I consider looks of secondary importance, this one is beautiful, a great car for old folk like me who do not look for a race car."

"This is the best Subaru I've owned so far. I've purchased an Impeza, Forester and now a Outback. Very good family and outdoor sports car, lot's of room inside and with roof rack and hitch mounted bike rack you can fit more then in a minivan. Can't wait for the summer and all the road trips :) 5 dollars a gallon ... bring it on ..."
