Consumer Reviews
"I have had several BMW's, Mercedes, Cadillac's, a Porsche, and even a Ferarri. This vehicle is in many ways a part of all those cars combined. A pleasure to drive, the quietest car ever, great gas mileage, very comfortable, and very fairly priced. If you are considering a 2011 Outback I highly recommend you just go for it as we have never owned a Subaru and may never own anything else going forward..."

"SUBARU WAS THE FIRST TO DEVELOP ALL WHEEL DRIVE.. THEIRS IS DIFFERENT THAN ALL OTHERS AND HAS BEEN IN EXISTANCE TWICE AS LONG ALSO THE V6 H DESIGN IS ONLY ON SUBARU..THIS VEHICLE FAR OUT PERFORMS ALL OTHERS OFF PAVED AND ON SNOW OR MUD COVERED ROADS. I HAVE HAD THEM ALL EXCEPT A HUMMER AND CAN ATTEST TO THE PERFORMANCE.P"

"Traded in my 2004 legacy for the 2011 Outback. The interior is sooo roomy. Feels like a very big car. Exlint gas mileage. (30 mpg so far) I do miss the power of my manual Legacy, but to get the mpg, you need the CVT. Radio is fine for my purposes, but may be wimpy for some phonophiles. I have three complaints so far: Cubbies in the rear do not have a door!? What's that about? I couldn't figure out the use for these. I velcroed a sheet of plastic to it. How tacky! On a positive note, there is a 12v outlet in the back. And, the flasher button is in the most asinine place. Lastly, there is no air vent for the back (not in my '04 legacy either, but this is 2011!) AND, only 2 air vents in front hit the driver no matter where you try to focus the air. One more thing! The "off black" interior is VERY black. I prefer a little lighter. Best of all: no plasticy "new car smell" like the toyota and honda. So far, I'm enjoying the ride"

"We were looking for a vehicle to replace a small car now that we have two kids. We wanted a car with more room. This is also our commuter car so we needed a vehicle with good gas mileage. The outback has it all. It looks great. Everyone and everything fits in the car. The gas mileage is excellent, averaging 28 or 29 mpg for the commute. It is a great car to drive. Very comfortable. Two car seats are all you can fit in the backseat."

"The 2.5i H4 170hp is not enough power for this vehicle because the weight of it is too much. Between that and the CVT it lacks so bad taking off from a dead stop. If you really want the Outback with the 4 cyl then get it in a manual it makes it a little better but you have to know how to drive it. The 3.6R H6 255hp with an automatic is much better but uses more gas. I should have just spent more money on the Audi A4 Quattro with the 2.0 turbo 210 hp. I can always get it when the lease on this is up. Only 2 more years to go. In the meantime the Outback is still a nice car in and out and rides and handles well, so its not that bad but not the best."

"Really a great car. Tremendous acceleration and a bit of macho style to boot. We modified the rear facing camera so we can turn it on at will and the GPS so we can change settings when the car is in motion...much nicer now. I highly recommend it for performance and looks plus Subaru is always contacting us to check and see if we are satisfied....five stars plus!"

"Trading in an 8 cylinder Ford F-150 club cab for my 4 cyinder Subaru Outback, I thought that I'd miss the roominess, the power and the comfort of the truck. Not at all! This is a great car! Roomy, well-appointed, good-looking and more than peppy-enough to get around in and haul my usual cache of dogs, tools and supplies. This was a great choice for me!"

"Traded in my Expedition. Plenty of room fr 2 big dogs, bicycles and camping gear. Great MPG, outstanding performance (3.6l). Navigation takes some getting used to, sound system outstanding when you understand the equilizer.4 wheel drive is great, helped even more by paddle shifters...no breaking going down hills..."
