"That Review Title sums it all up. I've had my 2011 limited now for close to 1 yr 7mo. and it's at close to 30k miles. Not one mechanical thing has gone wrong. The Subaru's have one of the Best Safety ratings in the car industry. Snow? fo-get-about-it..... Subaru out - does all other AWD vehicles in snow capability/performance, it easily plows through blizzard size drifts and never gets stuck. So far it's the best car I've owned and I've had 9 cars prior to the Subaru. I can honestly say the Subaru out performs all my previous cars. Good gas mileage too I might add close to 31mpg on highway with 4cyl boxer engine. Very happy Subaru Customer !!!!!! I rate it a 10."

"We purchased a new Subaru Outback, with three main concerns 1)Fuel Economy 2)Winter Driving 3)Inside comfort (I am 6'4" / 235lbs) on #1 and #2 all wheel drive and we get better than 30MPG (a lot of highway driving) is awesome. #3 the seat adjustments are perfect for my size and my two daughters to fit in the back. We love our Subaru, it's just like the commercial says once you own a Subaru you'll always own a Subaru. The only complaint I have is the accessories, we wanted a neoprene car seat cover that is not cheesy like I had with my Xterra (bought direct from Nissan) and cannot find them; also wanted matching headrest DVD players for the girls and can't not find any that match just right. Currently we are using the strap on type. It I would prefer the built in look. I looked at the 2012 legacy has them as an option... Good luck finding them under 1,500 dollars and even then."

"So far our experience has been wonderful. the style, ride and comfort are very good. we are anxious to see how the all wheel drive works in adverse weather which is around the corner. the only two things we would like to see changed in future models would be to light up the garage door opener buttons on the rear view mirror. you can't see them at night at all. the other item is the seat heater buttons are too prone to accidently hitting them because they are mounted on the top of the shift column. Would be better if located elsewhere."

"Over all a very nice car but for towing, the CVT is a little weird. Maybe it's just because I'm used to a manual transmission."

4400 miles later

"Bought my 2.5i about 4400 miles ago and have been happy with my purchase. Just got back from a long road trip and averaged 30 MPG going 75 mph on the interstate and some in town driving. My normal in town average is about 24 MPG. The car has surprising get and go off the line given its weight and engine displacement. I imagine the CVT helps with that, although unknown reliability had me double guessing my decision to go with the automatic. That being said, I had no trouble adjusting to the CVT after ten years of driving a manual. The only negatives with the car are the poor base stereo (small knobs and tinny sound), the spongy road feel at high speeds and sometimes the RPMs drops sharp at a stop. This is my first Subrau and hope to enjoy it for many years. I feel I got a lot of features, room and safety for the price."

"After 25 years of only driving trucks/SUV's, I have finally purchased my first Subaru. I have driven only Jeeps for the past 15 years and I was hesitant to go in a different direction. I test drove the Outback and that was it. It's combination of comfort, versatility, and economy made it the perfect fit for me. And with 8.7 inches of ground clearance it matched the '08 Wrangler Unlimited I drove. The Subaru just gave me so much more for my money and wasn't a bubble like the CR-V or comparatively overpriced like the Toyota Venza - which is more of car than anything else...and it doesn't even come with standard AWD like the proven Subaru! With only 800 miles on the ticker, I really can't rate reliability, however if history holds true, I will have my Outback for many years to come. Woo Woo Woo. You Know It."

"I just got my Subaru Outback 2.5i limited last weekend. I have put on 400 miles so far. I really happy with my decision about this. I tested driving Toyota Venza, RAV4, Honda Crosstour, and CRV. This one has it all: Good fuel economy, AWD and roomy interior (Venza is good also). I did watch some videos in Youtube. The snow handling is the best. I will test it this winter for my ski trip and update my review by then."

Practical Practical Practical

"I'm 6'4" and fit very comfortably in my Outback front seat and back. I got mine with the Prem 2 package with the winter package. I have not had it but for a week and so far so good. I use to drive a truck that got 10 mpg in town and loving the 22 mpg in town in the outback. This means you can drive 400 miles in town on a tank of gas, over 500 miles on the highway. This is the best 4 wheel drive for the money. Love the room in the back. Plus this is made in the USA Lafayette, Indiana. I've had back issues in the past and getting in and out is good because it sit's higher. This car has a purpose and that is practicality! It does everything you need a car to do and it does it well. Very dependable solid vehicle."

All is great except for high speed handling

"Great car-great value in all respects except for one huge flaw that most could overlook-high speed handling. Most don't buy a vehicle like this for high speed handling so not a big deal BUT beware if you are on winding high speed interstates like those in West Va., use caution. This vehicle is extremely unpredictable and hard to control at speeds over 65 mph with a moderate load. Keeping up with 70-80 mph traffic takes significant skill. Probably a combination of tires and suspension thats at fault, but this car isn't geared for such highway antics. Enough of the soul bad trait. The car is ultra comfy (I am 6'7" and 250 lbs.) fitting quite well. Very few cars fit me but this one does front and back! Great mileage w/4 cylinder and it will politely not excitingly get you where you're going with the best all wheel drive going. The paddle shifters are very helpful for keeping the 4 moving along but a temp gauge would be a plus. Good sound system but climate/sound displays hard to read in sun. Great vehicle just don't expect to drive it hard. Former cars: Cadillac SRX, Mazda CX-9, Toyota Highlander and Ford Exporer."
