"The day after I bought my Outback, it snowed four inches. I was in heaven. While other drivers were slipping and sliding around my neighborhood, the symmetrical all wheel drive got me where I needed to go. The second day after I bought my Outback, I took a few clients out for dinner and drinks. The heated front seats and spacious second row kept everyone comfortable and happy. The third day after I bought my Outback, I took my niece's sledding. All four of our sleds fit easily in the big trunk, and my Subaru had no trouble getting up the icy street to the top of the hill. While the four cylinder engine may not pack a huge punch, it is responsive and very efficient. After two months, I'm averaging 22 mpg. I've driven around 1200 miles in town and 800 highway miles. The cabin is very quiet and comfortable at high speeds. I went with the charcoal gray exterior, I think it looks professional yet sporty. After driving it for two months, my Subaru Outback is the best purchase I've ever made."

"we bought a 2013 subaru 3.6 outback a month ago so far it it a wonderful car.thje 3.6 has power to spare, when you step on it from a start it is realy resposive!! had a under powered car once and will never do that again. --ride is firm but very tight will be using it in the back woods of wi. so i'm sure we will be able to check out the 4-whl.capabilties soon. only thing so far is it doesn't have a latch to open the rear on the dashboard...you have to use the key bob. the real reviw will come in 100,000 miles!!!"

"This is the third Subaru we have owned and the second Outback. I have never worried about where, when or whether I would get to my destination."

"Have owned my 2013 Outback 4cyl for less than a month. Been averaging 28 MPG mixed driving. I'm really enjoying driving the car. The CVT transmission is great, haven't even tried the manual shifting mode yet. After doing a lot of research on the competitive cars, the Subaru was a clear choice. I'm looking forward owning this car for a long time. Maybe its because I own one now, but there are a lot of them on the roads these days."

"Just 500 miles but I believe it is super value on all criteria. 3.6 liter engine has great performance. The car is well styled and thoughfully designed. Quiet as well. $10,000-$15,000 less than other SUV's and comparable to any of them..who needs more than Subaru offers??"

"I have had a new 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited w/ Special Appearance Package now for a couple of months and so far I am very happy with this vehicle choice. First off, I think it is an awesome looking car, both inside and out. Most people will say the exterior styling is a "love it or hate it" thing, but for a wagon, I think the car looks great. I ordered the Satin White Pearl and it really is a beautiful paint color, especially compared to my older white Subaru Forester's paint. The SAP's Saddle Brown interior is beautiful and a great addition to the Outbacks. The SAP also includes the nice new navigation screen and radio interface, which after a small learning curve is really easy to use and has some nice features. I like the HD radio, the 400Watt Harmon Kardon stereo w/ 7 channel equalizer, and the navigation with voice commands. The bluetooth phone system also works perfectly with my blackberry. Being a Subaru, the car has been great so far in our first major snow here in New England. The fuel economy is okay. Highway mileage is as expected, but the city mileage does drop down quick after lots of stop and go traffic with winter fuel. The car is quiet, sturdy, easy to drive, and has great viability. It won't win any dashes off of the line, but has enough pep to not put you to sleep driving either. And being a Subaru, (my 3rd), I am pretty sure this thing will last a lifetime with minimal work. If there are any complaints, there are two small ones. First, while I love the memory seats that comes with the SAP, i found it took a really long time to get the 10-way seat to a comfortable driving position. Not sure why. The seats have a weird seam right down the middle which took a little getting used to. But now I find the seats plenty comfortable. And lastly, I wish the seat heaters had more than two settings (High & Low) and that they came on faster and got hotter. My old VW had the best heated seats ever! Overall a great family car that I love driving and would recommend to anyone!"

"This is a good size car for a 4-member family. I wouldn't recommend it if you need to transport more. It's comfortable, reliable, and has more electronic features that I have been able to figure out yet. Now I know why so many others have recommended this car to me, so far I'm very happy with it. Much more fun than a mini-van!"

"If you are looking at this segment, this is a top three pick. Great up-and-coming brand that is no longer reserved for those off-beat hippies and tree-huggers in the snow belt. Much improved handling over the 2012 model, and the CVT is much improved over first generation CVTs. MPG is as advertised, but not much better. Stock tires are OK, but should be upgraded for better handling, performance and safety. Great brand for resale value."

"I am 1000 miles into this 2013 Subaru and love it so far. Pros - Space for everybody It is very roomy both in the front, back and the storage in the back. I am 6 ft and have plenty of leg and headroom. My two growing boys have more room in the back seat than in our Volvo XC 90. They also lined the back seats with plastic so when the kids put their feet on the backs of the front seat, it is easy to clean up. I also put two 6 footers in the back for a trip and they were comfortable. Cargo space is great - fit all the gear for a weeklong ski trip in the back without a problem. there is storage in all the doors, underneath in the back etc..the car holds a ton Good gas mileage - I have been getting close to 27 MPG (mostly highway driving) CVT transmission - it is very smooth effiecient. Also has tiptronic transmission for manual shifitng which is great in the snow. Great in the snow - have taken two trips to the moutnains already - the first trip had six inches of nex snow on teh ground and the car was flawless in its handling. smooth and steady going up and down the mountain. Cons Audio system - I got it with the full nav/sound system. The sound is great but the user interface is a bit confusing and cludgey. It has a voice command system that is pretty much worthless - you have to learn all of the commands to make it work. I love the car so far - if the first 1000 miles are any inidcation, I will be driving this car as long as I drove my last subaru (150K)"

"Great car! We've had some snow since the time I bought the car and its a BEAST! It was made for snow. I've never felt so comfortable driving in inclement weather. It's also very comfortable and has great bells and whistles. It looks like a relatively large car from the outsiide, but it drives just like a mid-sized sedan (it doesn't feel too big when you're driving it.) I'd recommend this car to anyone looking for a cross-over vehicle."
