"Have owned 2 runners and regret selling the first so i bought the second. I have never been stranded or felt unsafe taking a long distance trip. I drive back home to South Dakota at least twice a year and have nver had a problem. I LOVE My Runner."

"I have owned my 4Runner for almost 2 months now and got it very cheap! I expected that there may be some problems because of the age of the car but the only problem right now is that it may need a new starter which is a common problem for Tacomas and 4Runners...inexpensive and easy to replace, so I am very impressed. I really enjoy driving the car and looking at it lol. Very spacious and grocery shopping doesn't feel like such a chore with all the trunk space! Also, I didn't even feel like I was driving on 3 inches of snow the other day because the 4wd is awesome!"

"My 97 4Runner never gave me a lick of trouble. Nothing but oil changes and regular maintenance. Tons of fun with bullet proof reliability (even with over 150k miles)."

"I purchased my 4Runner in 1999 as used. The car is now 12 years old and is still running great; very inexpensive to maintain and excellent performer on snow in Colorado winter. I plan to keep it for 8 more years and pass it on to my son."

"I bought it used in 1999 on a 1997 model. It handles great in snow when I shift to 4x4. I plan to keep it for another 10 more years and pass it on to my son. I love my car."

"I was given this car by my uncle in California but I live in Atlanta, GA. I was all for the drive across country until I started the car and noticed it had over 169,000 miles. My uncle said not to worry the 4runner would make it with no problems. That was over 30,000 miles ago now with 199,500 miles and running like a dream with no issues other than oil changes. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. WOW what a amazing vehicle!!!!!!"

"I bought my 1997 4Runner Limited in 2004 with 87,000 miles on it. I am the second owner (and the last). It has 150,000 miles on it now and still going strong. I havent had to do anything to it except regular oil changes and tune ups. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. 5 stars all the way!!!"

"I bought the 97 4Runner Limited with 179,000 miles just thinking that I would use it when we haul the dogs to the park. HA! I have we have driven all over the Southeast and Midwest with no problems. Now, with 230,000 miles it is still going strong. Only regular maintenence, except for having valve cover gaskets replaced. Plan on keeping it until 300,000!!!"

"I could drive this vehicle for my life!I bought this used in 2001 for a amazing price of only $9,995!Yet I do have 101,000 miles on it but its in great shape! There are no problams at all. I'd never trade it in for the car my wife wants,(2009 Dodge Journey!) I would TOTALLY reccomend this vehicle.Although the newer ones seat seven and they are not as great!I mean the price and everything."
