"We bought a used Toyota 4Runner with 51k miles. It performs great, handles great, and is a smooth ride on the highway or in the city. After our first full tank of gas that was mostly used on city driving, we averaged 17.5mpg- great mileage for a V8 engine that has the ability to tow a good amount of weight. The V8 model is extremely smooth and the engine is quiet even when pushing it hard. Like that the backseats fold down behind the front seats and the back seat goes completely flat, allowing a lot of room for hauling big items. Some of the interior design is a little funky - the control on the door are kind of low, dial looking temperature control that isn't really a dial just buttons- but that is really getting picky in my opinion. Would recommend this to someone looking for a reliable, durable SUV."

"I'm a bit loyal to the 4runner as it is since we have a 1999 model in the family still that has served us very well. While a bit pricey they most definitely hold that value well. It is comfortable but is obviously more like a truck than a luxury SUV or crossover when it comes to noise, handling, and getting into the vehicle. Great overall car but the newer ones can be a bit more pricey to maintain as well. For example, 2 new programmed keys and FOBs ended up costing over $500 through the dealer since the lot that I purchased the vehicle from didn't have them. A great overall vehicle."

"My 1998 4Runner was total. After looking at lots of CUV I returned to my true love. I bought this 2005 4Runner with 145K miles: very pleased. I went shopping for a '99 - '02 until I drove this. The vastly improved 4.0 engine was well worth the extra price. I get better power AND better fuel economy. Not extraordinary, but up to 24 MPG on the highway. The ground clearance is less, now I have to raise the front wheels to get under and change oil. But, the new oil filter placement (up top) is SO much more convenient. I prefer the styling of the 97 - 01 models, the more squared truck look. But, oh well. The 115V AC outlet is very convenient. What I hate: the silly push-button knobs for heater controls. They look like rotate but require push to select. Very awkward, lousy design. The heated seats are also sweet. I have no use for the rear collapsible storage cover, I wish it were easy to remove. The rear seats fold so much easier, no need to remove the headrests. All in all I'm very pleased. Even my wife likes it, she now drives it more than her 2012 Sorento. So now I get to replace the stereo with a full screen/bluetooth/XM sat/ model. BTW, the 7" screen on the JVC AVX840 won't fit, too tall."

"My 2004 4-Runner was totaled while we stopped at a traffic light. It was the most reliable vehicle I've everr owned, so I wanted to replace it. We bought the 2005 which is a little bit of an upgrade, and are very happy with it."

"One of the snowiest winters on record for the Northeast and I never missed a day of work thanks to my 4Runner. This baby powered through the snow and anything else Mother Nature could throw at me. The interrior made me forget about the harsh conditions outside. I waited a long time to purchase this truck and I hope to keep it even longer."

"Bought a 2005 4Runner dealer demo, had 350 miles on it, has 66K now. It still looks and drives amazing after 5 years. I have the oil changed regularly (that's a must do folks). I had a problem with the tire air pressure light coming on when it was cold in the winter. Turned out it was caused by the spare which the dealer replaced-problem solved. This is the best car I have ever owned. Beats the pants off the "looser cruiser" Ford mini van I was driving before I purchased it. The dealership in Birmingham, AL my husband and son went to, is a great place to purchase a car. The salesman and my husband & son brought the car to me, I couldn't go to the dealership at the time. I told them I wanted leather not cloth interior, they scheduled the change and I owned it. I will say that BIG (280+ lb) folks probably wouldn't be as comfortable as me driving or riding in it. But for me its the greatest car (I'm 5'4, husband and men children are 6'+ and less than 280 lbs, and they love driving it too. In fact, they find excuses to drive it for a day-"you need your oil changed", or "let me wash your car today"). (we also own Hondas and a Crysler) We've taken it on cross country trips with 4 people in the car and it was very comfortable for all. I wouldn't recommend 5 passengers for long trips unless they are smaller children (less than 13, as the middle back seat is small). It holds tons of luggage or stuff. Groceries will roll around in the back of the car if not secured by the net (came with the car). My husband & I built a 980 sq ft deck in our back yard 2 years ago and hauled all of the materials from Lowes in my 4Runner-about 4 trips over 2 weeks-2 or 3 hundred lbs of wood per trip. With the back window down it was easy. I get about 20 mtg in the city going back and forth to work. I found that if I drive 55 on the hwy I can get 28mpg, but let's face it, who wants to do that. At 70mph I average 24, at 80mph to 85mph about 22. I'll keep driving this car for at least 5 more years if not longer! The original black paint and silver trim make my car hot! It's a beauty even after 5 years. This is a great car."

"Bought my fully loaded 4 runner SR5 with 11,800 miles it's 2005 even has that new car smell still"cool".I have been intrigued with a Toyota 4 runner after owning a TT 94 Supra that i sold recently due to no room for anything but win races i outgrew it.But after 186,000 miles on my 89 Astro it finally let go my second car,now I need a car or truck to get to work.So I went to Kendall Toyota and fell in love with this 4 Runner that had just got turned in and i knew this one was for me when i saw it had everything I liked and in excellent condition and very low miles and the rest is history.Have been happy since love looking at it heck i even feel like a kid again. This is the reason Toyota is on top of their game.My wife Has leased Audi's for 8 years she drove the 4 Runner even she wants to drive my 4 Runner and give me here 05 Audi A4.No way get your own i say well it will be hers when her Audi lease is up and i will get a newer 4 Runner again .Test drive you will be impressed with no dissapointments .True story I'm a Toyota owner again.I'm Back and lovin it.QTRD lives."
