Toyota redesigned its full-size flagship sedan, the Avalon, last year, giving it a distinctive exterior design, a restyled interior and an assortment of available multimedia and safety features. Competitors include the Chevrolet Impala, Ford Taurus and Hyundai Azera. Toyota also sells a hybrid version of the Avalon that offers greater fuel efficiency.

Under the Hood
Powered by a hybrid system that includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric drive system, the Avalon Hybrid's total output is 200 hp. There are three driving modes: Eco, Sport and EV, and the latter allows all-electric driving at low speeds for up to a mile.
