"" This is the last car we'll ever own!"-my wife. And it pro9bably is!!! We enjoy the comfort, ride, versatility and gas mileage, 27/32 mpg. My only complaints, minor, are somewhat soft braking, and lots of bells & whistles (literally) which can be confusing at times. The cooled seats are wonderful, especially in 95 degree heat. Sound system is excellent. We look for reasons to take it for a spin.:)"

"We purchased the car in November of 2010 after seeing one at our local car show. The overall appearance of the car was the first "wow" and the front seats with adjustable lumbar support and heating were the second. The car has yet to disappoint us in any way. Mileage is as advertised or better and the overall comfort, both driver and passenger, is excellent. The car has abundant power and transfers that power to the wheels effortlessly. We have found only one very small detail to quibble about: the center console could benefit from some form of low level ambient lighting."

"When looking to replace my 2000 Avalon, I checked out the Lexus line, but came to the conclusion that the 2011 Avalon was a better value and an extremely nice vehicle. It has plenty of interior room (bigger than my 2000) and has a great, quiet ride. Probably the only complaint I have is the location of the USB plug and the charger plug. They are hard to get at within a storage compartment. Otherwise, I am very happy with this car and look forward to many years of enjoyment."

"In many respects, this is a great car - if only! Where is the push button start- our Corolla has pushbutton start. Where are the HID headlights? Where are the self leveling headlights? Toyota?s top vehicle, just redesigned in 2011 and none of the nice features available in the Corolla (HID?s excluded). A comfortable car for the late 20 th Century. Good acceleration, comfortable, just disappointing in creature comforts and safety features like HID?s, self leveling headlights, pushbutton start, etc. If you are interested in an Avalon, consider a Lexus."

"The car has great pick up yet gets excellant milleage for the size of car. Even better, the vehicle uses uses regular gas. With the price of gas continuing to go higher, this is a big plus. The rear seats recline but have not found that a benefit since most riders so far are not interested in that feature. The only complaint is that the back seats do not lie flat so that one can put long things in the trunck that would need to extend to the rear seat."

"When taking foot off gas pedal to slow down at slower speeds (city driving) the transmission down shifts. It feels like the car is dragging when you want it to glide. You have to put your foot on the gas pedal again."

"I do most of my driving in city/urban environment. The constant up shifting and down shifting of the 6 speed automatic is extremely annoying. The car shifts 4 times up to 30 mph and down 3 or 4 times when slowing to a stop. Because of all the shifting going on sometimes you will press on the gas pedal when the car is in process of down shifting there will be delay and a thud when the car goes into gear. The 1st low gear is a real challenge to drive on snow/ice/wet roads, which lasts about 4/5 months in this area and most of the country in winter. The break pedal is like stepping on a wet sponge that goes almost to the floor until you pump the pedal. I though this went out in the 50's. The steering wheel is so small it feels like your driving a go-kart with a big body. They also have heater controls in the steering wheel Why?? its easier/safer to reach the manual controls. The compass is displayed in the rear view mirror with the option of turning it off, except they turn it back on when you start the car. What were they thinking!!. The heated seat controls will allow the passenger to leave the heat on after the car is shut off and restarted. The low tire warning does not tell you which tire is low. (How Stupid is that) After you set the radio sound controls they are reset to base settings if you use the hands free phone. The door handles feels like they are spring loaded and are very noisy when you open a door. You have to slam the trunk to close it. I have only own the Avalon for a month so i am sure there will be many more issues. Very Disappointed"

"I just purchased my Toyota Avalon Limited on November 29, 2010. Very nice car with a smooth ride. I am a car owner that keeps all of my cars for 10 yeears or more and I can see this car lasting me 12 years or more. I have owned an Acura(Honda), Nissan, and now I am giving Toyota a try. So far my Maxima has given me the most longevity but it is too early to tell or compare to longevity of my Avalon. The only feature that should been on my Avalon are sensors that let you know when you are getting close to another vehicle when backing up and changing lanes like the Lexus. Otherwise I am totally satisified a luxury car that takes 87 octane how good does it get."
