"Looked at and have owned luxury before. Mercedes and Beemer primarily, but I LOVE this car! No premium gas, QUIET, like no luxury car and comfortable. I don't have the SoCal ego, but I have the smile (real not plastic) and money in my pocket from not overspending! The best in my 32 years od driving!"

"I really like the car, but was less than thrilled with the dealer. The car was listed as a Toyota Certified used car, but when I made my offer they told me that it didn't qualify as a Certified used car. It has all the controls for bluetooth ready/hands free phone use, and I was led to believe that this was a feature. After buying it, I couldn't figure out how to get the phone to sync and took the car back. My salesperson, who clearly believed that it had this feature, couldn't figure it out either. Ultimately, they told me that it had an after market system and I would have to buy an additional component to make this feature work. A few days later, I finally had the need to break quickly and found the breaks were extremely rough. I had to take it back to the dealer to have the breaks fixed, which they did free of charge, but it was still an unexpected hassle. Now that this is fixed, I quite enjoy the car. My only complaints are that even when I set the heat at 68 degrees and put it on automatic, the cabin seems to get heated far beyond that and I have to keep manually shutting off the heat and even though the after market stereo system is supposed to be far superior to the factory installed system, it has way, way too much bass for my liking."

"Purchased 9 mos. ago. Did a lot of test drives on other makes and models. Read all I could on best resale, safety, gas MPG.information and reviews. Purchased this car because of good history, good resale value and MPG. At 71 years of age I hoped this car would do well over the coming years and gas prices again going sky high. So far I am pleased with this car and the dealership. No recalls YET. I am very upset over the information about Toyota now coming out. I still like this car, good gas MPG around town. Better in warmer times then winter. I do wish it had a better interior. Great car but a little on the expensive side for what you get in return. Hope resale value or trade value does not drop."

"I went from a Nissan Xterra to this Camry Hybrid, I was quite disappointed in the overall quality of the Camry. I have had issues with squeeks, rattles, and noises from the day I drove it off the lot. I am disappointed with the cheap looking plastic pieces they used in the interior. I just feels cheap! The trunk is almost useless. I purchased this car in the summer of 2008, I barely put on 10k miles a year and the stock tires are already worn. I have wedges I use to stop the rattles in the dashboard cluster. The AC constantly has a noise from the fan that they can't get rid of, my seatbelt squeeks and they won't fix it because it is not a safety issue. I do not see where my mileage has improved over time, I am still getting about 34-38 in city and highway driving. I do have to say the car is very comfortable and it is nice to only have to fill up about every three weeks. The exterior is very sharp looking. It also handles very nicely. It just seems that Toyota tried to cut corners on the interior and as a result you have a really cheap looking interior that has a lot of noise issues. Would I recommend this car to a friend, probably, but I would advise them of the issues I have. Would I buy another one for myself, no. Toyota has disappointed me with their quality. I really was expecting a lot more from Toyota. Now we have all these recall issues, and guess what, mine is part of the recalls."

"I have owned a Camry Hybrid for almost 3 years now and I have never been this pleased with a car this far down the road! The car performs better than when originally bought, mileage actually has improved and she runs like a Swiss watch every day. While my new car warranty has just run out, I have not really used it! The fit and finish is excellent and while some reviews have criticized the design for some minor shortcomings, it is by far the best constructed vehicle I have ever owned (I've had a few in my 50+ years of life!) Looking forward to many more happy years behind the wheel."

"The brochure says 33/34 mpg. Right from the dealer I was getting 37-38 in mixed driving. As the weeks went on, the mileage when up to 45 mpg. This a a very comfortable well optioned vehicle. It has lots of interior room, but is a little short on trunk space. We do not use the vehicle as a daily driver, and as a consequence, experienced dead battery issues. Dealer says to make sure that the conventional battery is completely charged, as it is a smaller battery than in most vehicles and that the charging system output is also lower than in standard vehicles. We purchased a battery tender to keep it topped off. Otherwise, great car with great features."

"Back in the Summer of 08, with gas over $4 a gallon, I was on the wait list for a Toyota Prius. However, after checking the standard equipment, specs, and available packages, I moved my name onto the 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid list. When my name came up, I hadn't even had a chance to drive the vehicle. Even though I had absolute confidence in the Toyota brand, there is something disconcerting about committing $30k to a car that you've never driven before. I had never driven a hybrid or even ridden in one before. What if I hated it? I didn't want to downgrade to the Prius, which is basically an econo-car, so the camry offered the best of both worlds (power, room, and fuel efficiency). When I finally picked up the car, I was not disappointed. The transition between gas and electric is near seamless. The ride is quiet, but it still manages to have a sporty feel. For a person like me who needs a family sedan with comfortable seating for 4 adults, plenty of amenities, and excellent fuel efficiency, the 09 Camry Hybrid is perfect. I've had my hybrid for about 6 months and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I look forward to driving it. I consistently beat the MPG estimates. Overall, it's a great car. I have mixed feelings about the interior center console. It's translucent plastic that has a nice blue glow at night, but looks cheap and plastic in the daytime. Also, I don't like the plastic seat back mag holders. These look cheap both day and night (though they're harder to see at night). Finally, the trunk size is a bit on the small side. I don't have trouble on grocery trips, but I think I might have trouble with luggage for 4 adults without putting something in the cabin or on the roof. The feature I most wish for is driver-side memory seat. Personally, I think all of the hybrids should have these as an option. My wife and I swap cars quite a bit, so this feature makes them easier to share. Bottom line: If you don't want a low hp/low torque vehicle but you still want great gas mileage, the Camry hybrid is your best choice. Toyota's reliability and resale values more than justify the price. I traded in a loaded 05 Camry XLE-v6 for the 09 hybrid and in my opinion, it was not a step down."

"I love this car.... Gas prices caused me to trade in my Volvo C70 convertible that used premium gas for my new Camry and it was a wise move. I love the fact that I continually get 38 - 40 mpg. I have had it for about 2 months now and have 3600 miles on it. I considered the Prius, the Civic Hybrid and the Camry Hybrid. I really wanted a Prius, but I am short and if you are vertically challenged like I am, the second requirement for a car, after wheels, is electric seats. I couldn't see out of the Prius - the Civic is good, but I just felt that Toyota had the Hybrids perfected more than the Civics. When I test drove the Camry and could raise the seat up as high as I could, and saw how it handled, I was sold. We would like to trade in our SUV on a Prius, but not until they come with electric seats. Come on Toyota - if you can put a GPS and Back up camera in, you can surely include a necessity like electric seats! My favorite features on the CAMRY besides the MPG are the SMART key system, the Bluetooth capability for my phone and the moonroof. ( helps to make up for giving up my convertible.) Ihaven't driven it out of the area yet, so I am not sure what it would get on a long trip, and haven't really used the GPS either."

"I can't tell you how satisfied I am with this purchase. I, frustrated with the rising prices of fuel, knew it was time to get rid of my Nissan Frontier. We went into a dealership, not sure if the Prius or Camry would "win the prize". We test drove the Camry first, and were impressed with everything the car had to offer. Smooth, roomy (i'm 5'9" and my knees don't touch the front seats if I am in the back), "tech-ful" of options, and so on. Then we got in the Prius and immediately knew this was not the car for us. Although the Prius had the better gas mileage (and surprisingly more cargo room (Camry Hybrid does have a smaller trunk due to the electric battery)... it was not nearly as smooth and luxorious as the Camry. Long story condensed - we drove off the lot in a 2007 Camry Hybrid. Every option purchased... and let me tell you - i am still finding (one year later) things the car can do that I was not aware of at purchase. It is so much fun to play around with all the gadgets. Consumption controls show you exactly what you are expending (MPG or electric) at any given time. I would find myself re-learning how to drive so that I would stay on electric versus using gas. I even use these skills now when I drive our other vehicle (big ole gas guzzling Durango with the biggest freaking engine possibly available... 20-20 hindsight says should have gotten the 6 cylinder on that... LOL) In any event - I fill up about every 3 weeks - (down from every 9ish days in the truck) and on average I get just under 500 miles to the tank. We find we drive the car A LOT since it is so much more economical, and since my hubby works graveyard, and I days... he gets home I take it to work, then he takes it again. Durango has a nice cozy spot in the garage.. waiting for her chance to be driven... but at $4.25 a gallon... her time is better occupied right where she is, in that garage! :) We have already determined from this point forward we will only buy Hybrids... Awesome Awesome Purchase - I can not recommend it enough!"
