"The steering wheel controls are a rare feature, especially in a lower end model. Sunroof, alloy wheels, power windows/mirrors/locks are now a necessity. Great sound system. Toyota quality. A sporty car with great performance but no high insurance premium. Gas mileage averages 30mpg; get about 430 miles per tank. Large trunk, especially for a coupe."

"I recently (Feb 07) purchased a used 04 Solara SLE with the 3.3 V6 sedan, not the convertible. It was the redesigned exterior styling and overall interior appearance that sold me on the car. Shortly after owning the car I started to wonder which of the "quirks" or now "noticable" issues were either "facts" of the car or "facts" of being in an accident. Previously coming from a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT before purchasing the Solara, I wonder if its just the difference between American and Foreign built products that I'm experiencing with the the Solar (although the Solara is built in Texas). I often have the following problems and am wondering if anyone else has.... Wind Noise around windows is loud, the windshield also has a distinctive sound as if there is wind coming from a space at the bottom on the driverside, but there is no air coming into the interior side of the windshield. There is an odd noise coming from the front end as if something is loose, or sounds like the open lower front grill that shows the radiator intakes air and causes the noise, I can't deceipher which it is. Transmission has a distinct "lull" turning corners at 5-10 mph. I appears as if the transmission can't decide which gear to be in. I just blanks and does nothing while it decides between 1st and 2nd gear. Otherwise, I love the car....I'm wondering if other owners have noticed any of these small issues, which I would then just chock it up to design flaws or do I have complaints that other owners don't have."

"Such a wonderful car. Cute, Sporty , and reliable!!! I love the SLE, the woodgrain in the car is very nice, love the heated leather seats, and the front console(stereo/temp. controls) look very modern. I like how everything in the car is digital!! I would not trade this car in for anything!!! Even though it is sporty, it is not miniature like other cars. This is a great buy!!!"

"I just purchased this vehicle yesterday (9-9-06) and I love it. I especially love the look of the controls deck..it is very hi-tech and silver toned. The backseats are very deep.......and the car is very roomy overall. My car is loaded too.....has a moonroof, rear spoiler, FM/AM/6 Disc CD Changer and its pearl white."

"Have owned one for 2 years and it is a pleasure to drive especially on those cooler summer nights with the top down. Fit and finish are exceptional and it is very comfortable to drive on long trips to the coast."

"My dad brought a 2004 Toyota Solara SE 4 cylinder with the Automatic and it rides great. Before I installed aftermarket strut bars and sway bars the vehicle has a considerable amount of body roll, but after installing the aftermarket suspension parts my car handled like a dream. Acceleration is okay, the interior is nice, looks somewhat like a lexus but without the leather seats and woodtrim. Reliability is excellent, the car hasn't broke down on me once and I go from point A to point B safetly everytime I drive the car."
