"In my search for buying a used SUV I had came down to 2 choices, after purchasing my FJ Cruiser I know I made the right choice. The vehicle is wide enough to fit big people comfortably, plus all the different type of seat adjustments for long rides the seat goes back quite a distance for long legged people also. The radio has controls on the steering wheel, 4 wheel drive features for off road and the highway in a arms reach. three wipers for total visability. drives very quiet the steering handles so smooth, bumpy rides are a thing of the past. Blind spots due to the small windows in the rear, my experience is if you use the mirrors provided and have them adjusted correctly, its not bad. I have no negative things to say about the vehicle. Im hooked"

"This truck is amazing-it is so comfortable and easy to drive. My 2 dogs can jump in the back and have plenty of room with the 2 back seats down. I drove home from work in the middle of Hurricane Irene and I did not have any difficulty. The 3 windshield wipers really keep the visibility up during heavy rain."

"You can't go wrong buying an FJ. Just don't enter Top Truck Challenge and you'll be OK. After 77,000 miles, we honestly don't know if we'll ever trade our FJ, it's so great at everything, and has more character than anything else on the road."

"The best built least problematic SUV I've ever owned. It's not for comfort seekers, it's for hardworking hardplaying individuals who take full advanatage of its capabilities."

"I wanted one of these since they first came out, especially in the Voodoo blue that is so eyecatching. It certainly fits my personality perfectly. Finally got one a few months back and am really enjoying it. It is just the right size to be easy to park, but roomy in back for carrying groceries, luggage, horse feed etc. The rubber flooring is great for families with kids and animals. The white roof helps keep it cooler inside on hot days. Can fill it up with gas for $50 instead of the $80 it took to fill my Avalanche. Sits up high for a feeling of security and a good vantage point to see out and around. Under the hood everything is labeled to be easy to check fluids etc. The only negatives at all : there is a pretty large blind spot on the sides right behind the back seats when backing out and cars are coming in from the sides, and it's a bit of a bumpy ride which is no problem unless you've got a very sensitive passenger. Overall, I love it!!"

"My FJ Cruiser is a great surprise. I luv how toyota has taken the time to put out a great vehicle. It's built like a jeep, but without the noise, vibration, or comfort issues. I needed more room getting in and out of my vehicle and my FJ is just the ticket. The seats, instruments, door handles, and controls are large, visible, and very accessible. It only gets 4 stars for comfort and interior style due to the trouble of adults ability to enter and exit from the rear seat and the spare tire hindering rearview mirror visibility. A nice added feature is the floor handles in the rear for straps or tie downs. For any complaints about the gas mileage, I eased this pain by adding a cold air intake on my vehicle. Its given me about 2 additional mpg and some additional throttle response. Toyota designed and built a tough, practicle vehicle and I have the pleasure of owning one."

"I have to say that this is the most fun vehicle that I have ever driven. Okay, I like how it looks and the way it performs but it's just really fun to drive. The mileage could be a little better but it's a small sacrifice for the instant power both around town and out on the highway. We had a huge snow storm here just days after I purchased the vehicle and the four wheel drive is very impressive. It cleans up very easily and is a must for the outdoor types. I load the canoe on the roof rack, put the seats down and load up my gear, and am set for the weekend. It's a great vehicle all the way around."

"As a past FJ40 owner and seeing this at the 2006 SEMA show I knew I had to have one. I have had the FJ Cruiser to Moab, and many other back roads in Utah and it has always delivered what was needed. It is no LUX-O SUV, if that's what you want look elsewhere. I did install a Pioneer NAV system with back-up camera. Mileage could be better but OK for a SUV. Overall I am a happy camper with the FJ."

"Fell in love with the FJ at its Auto Show premiere so I purchased the 1st edition 07 FJ in Spring of 06 and now have 60K miles on it. No problems mechanically, very reliable and a solid runner. Regular maintenance is easy and cheap. You don't even need a jack to change the oil, just crawl underneath and the top mounted oil filter makes it even easier. The futuristic styling speaks for itself, no other SUV on the road looks like it. Plenty of interior room although the back seats can get cramp for a long raod trip, you wouldn't want to sit back there for more than 4 hours. Fold-down the seats and there is ton of cargo room. Handles well in good/bad weather. Stock tires are just okay in snow, traction is not the best especially when stopping in snow. However, the 4 wheel drive works fantastic in bad weather. 18 to 20 mpg in the City and 22 Highway, assuming you don't have a lead foot. If you're constantly carting around more than 2 people, this may not be the best SUV for you. But for the occasional 3rd passenger, this is a fine SUV for getting through bad weather and hauling cargo. Fantastic sound system, MP3 Aux jack is great. No frills interior, rubber-lined floor makes for easy clean up especially in winter. Only negatives is that it has a terrible blind-spot which takes getting use to. Must trust your mirrors, attaching an self-adhesive bubble mirror to the standard mirror helps tremendously, did that on both mirrors, just like a school bus. Also, standard jack is useless. Had a flat tire once and the jack was too short so I carry a speed jack in the trunk in case of a flat - small negatives overall. Unbeatable value considering other SUV's in its class, reliable, safe and very easy to own. I plan on keeping this truck well past 250K and would gladly get another."

"I've driven it through snow drifts in the Sierra's and flood waters in So CA and it takes it all in stride. Like it was smooth paved road. My kids can trash the interior with mud, snow and sand from the beach and it cleans right up - looks like new all over again. Reminds me of the old metal Tonka trucks I had when I was a kid. Just more fun than the Range Rover I use to have. Simplicity and performance."
