"We have owned a Highlander for about a year. This is a comfortable car to drive and travel in with the family. That being said, we wish we never bought this vehicle. There are way too many electronically controlled systems that fail. This vehicle has electric steering and it has gone out several times while driving. It also has electronic brake distribution and it has failed. We also have had the car just not start periodically for no reason. These systems are controlled by the computer and have put our family in extremely unsafe situations. We now own a vehicle that we are afraid to drive!"

"I have owned four toyotas. I currently have a 2004 tundra. The highlander limited I purchased in april 2010. It is a GREAT vehicle. I do my own oil changes, and the two I own are very consumer friendly. Will never buy anything other than toyotas. Great resale value."

"I have been looking for a midsize suv for my wife for the past 4 months .I did an extensive research specifically we ultimately settled with Highlander after test driving about 6 other brands. We love the ride, looks and space. Got the crimson red with black leather in the SE version."

"I was rear-ended the day after buying this vehicle. The other vehicle's air bags depolyed. There was minimal damage to my 2011 Highlander and it was safe to drive until it went in for repairs. This Highlander has excellent suspension and road damping, even on the pot-holed roads we face here in San Diego. The 2011 Highlander is wider (4 inches) and longer (8 inches) than my 2005 was which makes it hard to fit two cars in our 2-car garage. The full size navigation and hands-free bluetooth access make it a plus while driving. The third row seat is a joke, unless you like cramped quarters and are flexible enough to squeeze past the second row seats, but was not an option to remove from the vehicle. Overall I am happy with this vehicle and have no regrets upgrading to a newer Highlander."

"I was pleasantly surprised at how much roomier the 2011 was over the 2003. This SUV has more power than you could ever want or need. Look forward to having many years of service from it."

"I have nothing bad to say about my 2011 Toyota Highlander. I have the non-hybrid model and am averaging about 21 mpg. It's a very smooth ride and fun to drive. It came with standard features that I really didn't need, but have come to enjoy, like the sunroof, leather seats and auto-closing rear door. The fold-out 3rd row is perfect for our family of four, because we only need the extra seating occasionally, and get to enjoy the extended cargo space the rest of the time. Toyota has also exceeded my expectations with their customer service. I highly recommend Toyota and specifically, the Highlander."
