"I purchased a 2010 Prius III for the sole purpose of fuel economy for my 60 mi per day commute. So far the Prius averages 50 to 52 mpg (my 03 Sable got 20 mpg). I read the reviews and I think they got it right. It has a lot of room for a car in its class. The ride and handling is good (by no means is it a luxury or sports car). The systems in this car are awesome (JBL Sound, Navigation, Bluetooth, Backup camera, solar option). You will not go wrong with this vehicle."

"We struggle to get 40mpg around town, 45 hwy, and every piece of grit in the road, or ripple in the pavement, sends every piece of interior plastic vibrating noisily. I hate to be in this car. I will never buy another."

"First know that I am a German car enthusiast..yes, like BMW's, Benz, Audi etc...fast, road hugging, high end driving machines that give you a thrill every time you get behind the wheel. I found myself putting a lot of miles on my car and making very regular $50. visits to the gas pump. Long story short and with a fair amount of trepidation, I bought a Prius, loaded, white. So here are my thoughts.... If I am in a sports car, I drive aggressively. If I am in the Prius, I drive like a normal person. This is good. I took at 600 mile road trip to northern Minnesota in the Prius, even with snow tires and ave. speeds of 65 mph, it averaged 48 mpg. And I'd only driven the car for 2 weeks, so I am still learning to push the mpg's thru driving technique. The seats while not the ultimate in comfort, were perfectly fine. The heating system & defrosters kept the visibility great and interior temp even. I have blue tooth and the premium JBL sound system...I streamed podcasts and music - sound was very nice and especially at higher volumes the sound gets richer. Yes, there is a rattle in the dash, when the car is cold, on the passenger side. It disappears when the car warms up. I needed hauling capability in the trunk and coming from a Volvo wagon, I was a bit concerned that it would be too small on the Prius but there too, it is meeting my needs and then some. I really didn't expect to love this car given its characteristics as a driving experience - it most definitely does not take a corner the way a BMW does. But despite that, since I now drive like a normal person, I really enjoy it. There is something intrinsically and continuously satisfying, even enjoyable about getting 48 mpg. I test drove the Lexus hybrid, and that was much more of a driving machine but its very small and the mpg's are closer to 40 than 50 and its significantly more money to buy and own. I also drove the new Ford C-Max which I liked but the Ford dealers that I dealt with had the most underwhelming and unappealing sales staff - it had a very 'old school' car salesroom feeling. Plus that car has just been introduced to the US market, so there are no used ones on the market and its decidedly not cute. The Prius III continues to exceed my expectations and you can count me among a new and growing number of Prius enthusiasts."

"We purchased the car in November 2012 as a certified used prius from a dealer, replacing a 2004 Lexus ES 330 at 100k miles. Our 6th Toyota product dating back to 1986, all of them flawless. It is as advertised, with that solid, "everything works" Toyota feel. Average 50 mpg in first 1,500 miles. This is the top of the line Prius V hatchback model with the upgrade to 17 inch full alloy wheels. Gives the car superior handling characterisitcs. "Power" mode makes the car feel faster than the Lexus when accelerating onto the interstate. Love everything about the the car!"

"a few things..there is a blind spot over your right hand shoulder..it can be hard to see on your passenger side for switching lanes...especially if you are shorter. Also, the driver seat is completely sectioned off from passenger with a large median compartment. Excellent fuel economy. I'm averaging 49 city miles a gallon. I really enjoy this car and feel like it was a good investment for the future of gas prices and environmental concern."

"I love this car ! It takes less than 30.00 to fill it up and it lasts me 3 weeks to and from work!! I could have bought a Beemer but wanted to be smart with my money and also green for the environment. If everyone drove a car like this there would be less pollution in the air !"

"Great car overall, but has a few annoying rattles...from the consol & the glove box. The rearview mirror was loose & the spoiler is also loose. Avoid the 17" wheel option on the Prius level 5..it causes the car to ride harshly...and rattle."
