"I bought 2011 Tundra in Oct 2011. Have about 7,000 miles on it. Only drive about 700 miles per month -- all short hops, in town. Which is a good thing. The big V-8 gets between 11.5 - 12 mpg in town. Haven't taken it on the road and doubt that I will. Comfortable bucket seats. Have lost hearing in one ear and it is declining in my other ear (helped with hearing aid). Nicest feature (for me) is the Bluetooth connection to my cellphone. I don't use my phone while driving but it's nice to be able to punch a button on the steering wheel, answer a call, and tell them I will call them back when I'm parked. It has a 'winter package' (not sure how it ended up in Texas). Heated mirrors, etc. I like but don't like the rear-view camera. Was backing up the other day, using the camera mostly. I didn't realize the camera doesn't take in a full-view of the rear of the truck. I clipped a light pole with my rear bumper and right rear quarter panel. ALL cars should have side view mirrors with standard wide-range mirrors (like the ones you buy at auto supply -- but better). The center rear-view mirror barely captures the width of the truck bed. Can't use it to determine if anyone is even near the blind spot on each side."

"this is the 3 tundra I have owned 2001 2004 and now the 2011, at 6000 miles I started getting 19.3 mpg, mixed town and hiway, and the 2 free oil changes of 0w20 synthetic are pretty good too. tows great, rides better than my 2004, double cab, the thought put into this truck was super. only thought I have is tire size and make, wish they would allow buyers to choose tire brand as 65 series tires do not have the sidewall protection I like but over all a great truck"

"We were looking for a replacement for our '94 Mazda B-4000, and thought it would be a Toyota Tacoma. But after comparing the Tundra and Tacoma, with the Tacoma's fuel economy only slightly better than the Tundra, and the Tundra's comfort and performance being WAY better, and the clearance price for the Tundra lower than the higher-demand Tacomas, the choice was clear: We're now Tundra owners and happy about it. The 0% loan didn't hurt, either..."

"I recently traded in my 2006 Dbl Cab TRD 4WD for a 2012 Dbl Cab Rock Warrior. I have been driving Tundra's since 2002 when I first purchased a SR5 4WD Extended Cab. Before that I was a dedicated Chevy guy when it came to 4WD trucks. Like my first two, I fully expect this Tundra to be a rock solid truck. So far these are my impressions driving this truck. A) It rides like a truck, definitely a bit harsher when unloaded compared to my other Tundra's. B) The 5.7 will definitely get up and go. I find it comparable to the 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500 I rented while visiting Alaska this summer. C) The transfer case seemlessly shifts from 2WD to 4H. Much smoother than my last Tundra. D) The 6 speed tranny is quite smooth but my last Tundra was a bit smoother it seems. E) The instrument cluster needs some work and the red back lighting is a bit of a distraction, for me anyways. F) The truck feels more firmly planted on the road when driving compared to my last one. G) Toyota should place there trailer light receptacle in the bumper like Dodge instead of underneath. A rough exit out of a ditch cost me $225.00 to replace that assembly, LOL. Overall I am impressed with this truck and am looking forward to doing some hauling and towing to see how the 5.7L and 4.3 rearend do."

"Love this truck!! Crazy powerful engine which was main reason for buying. Does not respond well to mods but runs good stock. Fuel mileage was around 16-17 with stock tires, dropped to 15 with new ones. Not bad for a big V-8. Ride is pretty good. Only complaint is interior is not as good as other makes and our PATHETIC toyota dealers/service centers.."

"I have never had a Toyota and its the best choice i have ever made.I had chevy, dodge,and trade in a 09 ford f150 that had a vibration that thay could not find for my tundra 5.7 4by4 this thing will tow my 7000# camper with the 500# atv in the back of the truck like its almost not back there,the fuel milage its not average but its a package deal more power more fuel im very pleased"

"Purchased for a 7,000 towing capacity. Actually the standard 2-wheel drive goes to 9,900 capacity with a 4.3 axle ratio and towing package (4-wheel drives only go to 9,000 hauling capacity). Transmission cooling system. Very large brake rotors (13.9") with 4 pistons. No spongy feeling with braking. Stops on a dime, even with the heavy load towing. Handles the boat quickly with moving lane to lane and/or backing onto the boat ramp. Tried other dealer brands and nothing compared to the luxury with the price & handling. The 5.7L V8 engine is not really good on gas mileage with around 12 MPG hauling; however, it is much better than the 250 or 2500 series of trucks we tried. Towing mirrors are a plus with the heater. Added bonus: Backup camera in the rear view mirror puts you precisely on the tongue of the trailer. Owned 6 months and very satisfied with purchase except husband running into the tree on our property. Minor damage though at front end. Hanging files in center console is also added bonus. Other useful items: numerous storage sites, reclining rear seats, and USB ports for thumbdrive music playing. Would definitely purchase again. Solid truck for the money with a lot of luxuries. Con: Dashboard components in circles where you have to be the driver to see them. Cuts out your companion's view if both are watching for problems while towing. Also they are in red colors and not very eye friendly."

"I am a certified Toyota fan in addition to being a truck nut. I have owned4 Toyotas in the past, but never a Tundra. The thing that is making me want to trade it in after 5k miles is the rough shifting transmission. It is jerky from first gear through second gear especially when the engine is cold. With this transmission I am sure that others will complain about the jerky starts in the tundra. Dealer said it is fine even though I got into another one on the lot and it shifted fine. Before you get a Tundra, test drive one to make sure it shifts smoothly."

"Purchased a 2011 tundra 6 months ago, after extensive research and comparison. My brothers drive a dodge, Chevrolet, and Nissan trucks so I had intimate access to the competing trucks. 6 months later they all agree that the tundra is superior in most categories. Power is exceptional with the 5.7 liter, turning radius is surprising, and resell value is undoubtedly better which speaks to the durability of the truck. I am towing a 20 foot boat and it's quite enjoyable how the truck tows, there is literally no difference in performance with the boat in tow - to the point where my wife has asked, "did you forget to pick up the boat?" the only complaint is that there isn't a diesel option....."

"I love my truck. I check many options before I buy and @ the end I find out that U cant  compromise mpg v/s power , yes u can have a v6 -22/25mpg-and half of a torque for a better price,  can?t compare a v8, 5.7L -17mpg ( my personal case 19 mpg Hwy ) ? and 381 hp, the torque u can imagine 401 @ 3600 rpm.  U can do it all. The model Toyota Tundra 4x4 SR5 2011, give me more mpg @ 70 mph.  Driving @ 60 ? 65 mph, I cant really say u r saving some fuel, because the truck is heavy,(and depends the load u have). @ 70 mph, and most part of the time on cruise control will help u to maximize the mpg?s, please don?t be a cheap guy or girl giving a cheap fuel, I go to Chevron all the time and get the Premium gasoline .26 gallons @ $3.85(reg)= $ 100 v/s 4.03(prem)=$104, I tip more going out whit my friends or have a drink less , and get the premium. So far everything looks good, tracking all the recalls from Toyota will help u to understand , how much they are worried for ur safety, and ur happiness will last forever ."
