  • Best car I’ve owned and driven

The car meets a perfect speed standard for specific drivers, if you want power when you need to pass somebody or just got a nice long road you want to open it up on, you can do it, very well if I must say, the 2.0t is a amazing motor overall, so many different things you can do with it power wise, just overall a great balance car, butttt your back seat is not the best in a 2 door, which is what I have lol, oh well

  • Fun, fast, and practical hot hatch

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is a great car. I have the manual transmission version and the shifter is very crisp and satisfying to shift. The steering also feels very responsive. There is just enough resistance in the steering wheel to feel sporty but the electric power steering makes it so that you don’t have to muscle it every turn. I was extremely impressed with how well the car handles for a front wheel drive car. The interior is extremely comfortable And quiet as well. I went on a 14 hour road trip from Tennessee to Maryland and was comfortable the whole time. It’s a great balance of speed and practicality and a great value for your money.

  • A blast to drive.

Fresh out of college, I needed something practical but also didn’t want to skimp in style and performance. While I wish it was maybe a little higher on the performance side, it is a blast to drive and perfect for all my needs.

  • I love this car,

I just topped 80K after owning it for 4+ years. The comfort, handling, and reliability are way better than the Mk5 that I previously owned. The 20 extras HP are pretty nice as well. I first fell for a GTI when I just sat down in it. The seats are the best of any car I’ve tried. The current model rides a lot more smoothly than my earlier Mk5 without sacrificing handling, which is one of the great joys of driving this car. I let myself be talked into extended warranties on both of my GTIs and it has been a good thing. The Mk5 was a hot rod and a blast to drive but not notably reliable. My current Mk7 has been really good, except for blowing the turbo at around 70K. With the warranty it cost me 100 bucks to repair. I will probably get the extended package again on my next GTI, and there will be another. One of the things that can ne easily overlooked is the slow rate of depreciation among VWs. That really pays off at trade time and lowers the cost of ownership substantially. If you’re leasing you’ll see that in some real deals there. Yeah, I like this car. It does everything I want in a car and leaves me with a smile on my face.

  • Bang for the buck!

I've owned mine since 8/2015 a DSG S model. I've driven sports and luxury cars all my life and retired from the car business after 40 years. I'm performance car enthusiast but with a budget. I'm also a senior who loves to drive fast. The GTI offers more engineering per $ than likely anything out there today. The engine DSG trans and suspension work so well together plus a surprising amount of storage for versatility. Comfortable on trips too. The seats are great..I prefer the cloth in Clarke Plain personally. Decent MPG 26 Suburban/City and 31 Highway here.

Very quick car and very comfortable. I can average about 35mpg on the highway while still being able to speed down the road. This is the most practical and fun car you can get for the money.

  • Fast, fun, and efficient!

This car has excellent features: sport mode, paddle shifters, leather seats, moon roof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear view camera, etc. It is great on gas, has plenty of space, and is a blast to drive. My only complaint so far is that I wish it had navigation. However, it is a few years old so it's not crazy for it to not have that technology. Overall, by far my favorite car that I've owned, and it is my third Volkswagen. It has everything I need and more, I plan to stick with it for a long time.

  • Love me a Vdub

Okay, I actually don't love the GTI.. I really want to and it is so almost there. Great styling inside and out, the car is tight quiet smooth and beautiful. It's Dynamic and precise with good driver feel, not too harsh, quite fast especially with a 93 octane tune. But its FWD.. which is fine... it's just lacking that little someth'n special. Don't get me wrong, this car is great. It's just love is a strong word. I've been longing for a golf R.. but the heart wants me a m235i.. so to the MK7 Gti I say, God you're special, and you remind me of my youth, thanks for going back to the pure essence of where you belong! Till next time, o yeah, I still own you for now (anyone wanna buy a 15 gti?)
