New for 2014
A new 170-horsepower, turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine replaces the 2.5-liter inline-five-cylinder in the Jetta lineup, and all gas engines can now run on E15 fuel. The car’s semi-independent rear suspension has also been replaced with a more sophisticated multilink independent rear suspension. Upper trim levels gain a backup camera.
Volkswagen’s Car-Net communication system is also available for the Jetta. It includes services like roadside assistance, crash notification and stolen vehicle location assistance as well as boundary and speed alerts, a vehicle health report and an enhanced point-of-interest service for vehicles with navigation. All Car-Net features can also be administered by a smartphone app.
