  • I love my 2014 Unicorn

This car is amazing. I bought it at the end of Feb 2021 for $11,000. That was about 4-6 weeks before the price of used cars skyrocketed. The first time i took it to a mechanic for some scheduled maintenance i found out that i have a “Unicorn.” It is quick and handles like a dream. I love that i don’t have to fuel it up as much as the gasoline version. The six speed manual transmission is amazing. A fun fact about this car is that it isn’t actually a Jetta. It’s a Golf. My manual 6 speeed TDI sportwagen is the most fun car i have ever owned.

  • VW Did it Correctly Again

TDI 6Speed MT. Bought this car with 106k miles 16 months ago and still has another 14 months and 34k miles left on TDI warranty. Have put 10k on the car. DPF/ EGR filter; Intake manifold and O2 Sensor have failed since purchasing. All 100% covered by TDI dieselgate warranty at dealer. Great car. Great acceleration, handling, and payload. Been driving ONLY VWs since 1986 (first car was 81 diesel rabbit 4sp MT), and this TDI is every bit as practical and fun, but a lot more high tech. Love this TDI SportWagon

  • Only vehicle in its class (6 speed Diesel Wagon)

(Note :This review is for the 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI) This car is the only Eurowagon for sale in the US with an available manual transmission and diesel engine. It has amazing torque and quasi-euro handling. Lots of cargo space. Great vehicle if you are putting things on the voluminous roof. Interior is worlds above Asian interiors in this price bracket. V-tex Leatherette is wonderful. Gagetry is definitely spartan. If whistles and bells are what float your boat, you got the wrong car. This is a DRIVER'S CAR. It likes curvy roads and spirited drives. If you bought one post dieselgate "fix" you get an amazing warranty. 4 1/2 years or 48K miles from the date of the "fix". Unfortunately, you may spend more time at the dealer diagnosing check engine lights and diesel particulate filter lights than you want. It appears that you really need to be a devotee to drive one of these. Don't make a habit of shutting it down in the middle of a regen (which happens twice as often as did in my pre-fix 2011 Jetta Diesel) The DPF is the Achilles Heel of this vehicle. But Honestly most TDI devotees don't care. Two types of people drive diesels: those who like the economy, and those who like having 236 ft lb of torque. The ones who love the torque rarely have DPF (diesel particulate filter) woes because when you drive this car like you stole it, it seems to love you back!

  • Comfortable, economical, and sporty.

This car has a huge hatch space, which was my priority. It has very comfortable seats. I am thoroughly enjoying the full sun roof and the mesh sunscreen that blocks the sun but lets in the air. The mpg is impressive. I am pleased with this car.

  • Most Fun car yet!

I purchased this car after our minivan had been totaled. So it was quite the downsize, however the Sportwagon did not disappoint in the slightest. It has power, fuel economy, fairly easy to maintain, and just feels perfect.

  • Fun to drive, reliable and great MPG!

This car has low miles for it age, has been reliable and quite dependable for my wife. We are nearing retirement and need to reduce our overhead. The gas mileage, storage space and styling makes for a wonderful vehicle. It drives great to errands, commutes to work or for a weekend adventure.
