"I absolutely LOVE this car. I have to admit that I test drove it twice before making a decision. The first time our salesman was busy and let us test drive the car by ourselves. I liked the car a lot, but wasn?t in love with it the first time (thought the seats were a little too padded on the side bolsters). I also tried an Audi Q5 and an Outback 3.5R Limited, liked both but not any more than the Tiguan. I wanted to give the Tig one more shot, so I went to a different dealer and got a new enthusiastic salesman that went with on the test drive this time. What a blast that was, I had no idea how fast this car is! Showed me how to use sport mode, amazing acceleration and torque, I was instantly in LOVE! The test drive took a good hour and a half. I had plenty of time to adjust the seats comfortably and try out the Bluetooth, nav, and the fantastic stereo. The adaptive xenon headlights are wonderful, there is also a special auxiliary light that turns on at night when you make sharp turns, it lights around the corner and you can see everything. The panoramic sunroof is beautiful, I have used it every day since we bought it. The rain sensing wipers are cool, no more having to fidget with the speed constantly, it speeds up, slows down between clouds and reduced speeds, and even stops on its own. The Tig is just the right height to load the kids into their car seats without stooping over, they can climb in and out on their own and the big brother (4) can open the door by himself. I really like having the backup camera. So easy to park and drive, good visibility (no blind spots), nice tight turning radius, this car maneuvers very well in tight spaces. We also drive a Chevy Avalanche, so I appreciate being able to actually park it and back it up without having an enormous blind spot behind me. This car is SEXY inside and out, and it gets lots of looks when I drive by. I like that I have only ever seen 4 of them, not many out there like other competitors (RX 350, Highlander, CRV, Equinox, etc). I don?t know if I emphasized enough how FAST this car is, it is hard to let off the gas when you feel the burst of the turbo and the car wants more, more, more! The salesman saw the smile on my face when we really pushed her hard, I knew right then the search for the new car was over. It is the perfect car for a small family, sure-footed in the rain and snow (search for Tiguan snow videos, cool!), decent gas mileage (unless you love the sport mode like I do and have a heavy foot), and is a sports car when you want it to be. I can?t believe I get to drive this car every day. I find myself taking the long way to work, and making excuses to take her out for a drive. I definitely arrive at my destination feeling better than when I left. Need a smile? Give her some gas and hold on, I just wish there was less traffic so I could open her up a little more. Get every option, nothing to regret later. It is absolutely worth the price."

"This is such an awesome car I would recommend this car to anybody. I always have used asian cars and after awhile I relized that I havent yet driven a european car. After a little researching through what they had in stock, I decided to purchase the Tiguan. At first I was kind of worried if the car would've been a very junky piece of metal, like some cars Volkswagen has made in the past, but this car has shown no signs of being poorly made. Overall, I give this car a five out of five, and if the scale went to ten, I would also rate it ten out of ten. The SUv is very comfortable with great suspension so you don't have to deal with bumpy rides or spilled drinks inside. The performance is pretty good, It has very good acceleration, but the braking could be a little better. The handling is ASTOUNDING for something in that class. Its more then fun to drive and sometimes I like to take the long way around town just so I can have more time to drive this car. It handles like a Mazda would. Exterior design is'nt the most impressive but its still better then some others like Scions and the Nissan Cube, but also, the more I see it in my garage, the more I like how it looks. One of my most favorite things about this car is it's interior design. Its well-put-together and has a very full feeling. They gave some very nice features that can come with the car. I really like the standard touch-screen moniter on the dash. One of the bad things about the car though is that it costs a little much then whats it's worth, I mean its still worth every penny to me, but it could've been a little cheaper. Another bad thing about the car is that is doen't have very good gas mileage. I've only been getting about eightteen in the city and twenty-five on the highway. Other then that everything is almost flawless. I would encourage you to purchase this car if you are looking for a great time and a great car."

"I bought one for my wife about 6 months ago, and it is a great vehicle. The four-motion got her through the snow with no problem and it is good on gas milage. The vehicle is fun to drive and provides great visibility when you drive. The fun factor is high"

The Tiguan is an absolute pleasure to drive

"My wife and I researched 24 CUV's, and after a great deal of thought, we settled on the Tiguan. And it has been one of the best automobile decisions we have ever made. The 2010 Tig costs 10% more than many of its competitors, but it offers a super build quality and finish that is usually reserved for luxury SUV's in the $50k range. This vehicle has an understated refinement and near-lux feel, and it handles very well in the snow and the dirt. The VW Tiguan has 10 airbags and five-star safety ratings all around. And the cabin is absolutely cavernous for a small CUV (drivers and passengers over 6 feet will easily fit in the Tig). The capacity is good for a small family, and it will also fit four big adults and one child if needed. Most of all: the Tiguan offers near-GTI handling, holding the road with a poise and refinement that is an absolute pleasure for the driver. Misgivings are few on this vehicle. The drivetrain does emit an unrefined sound under acceleration. The Tiguan does not have a diesel engine option in North America yet. The cargo hold is smaller that the competition. And the VW Pioneer touchscreen stereo is slower to respond in the cold. But there is nothing showstopping about any of those minor complaints. If you are looking for a compact CUV for winter/all-weather driving, and you want to save $3500, then I recommend that you buy the homely Honda CRV or the tired Toyota RAV4. But if you are looking for a substantial CUV that is truly built for driving, look at the Tiguan. Five stars out of five. p.s. Canadians and cold-weather drivers: I recommend the mid-level SE trim with Energy Cloth seats. The Tiguan warms up very rapidly, and the heated cloth seats are a godsend in -30C wintertime!"

"I had only owned toyotas most of my life except for 1 time--my past 3 vehicles were toyotas that i put well over 100,000 miles on. when it came time to buy a new car I always thought I would get a Highlander. After driving one and putting a deposit down I had buyers remorse the next day--I did not love the car for the amount of money it would cost me. I did not care for the rav-4 look with the tire on the rear door and the sideways opening. I did want a smaller suv so I was forced to enter the world of other makes of cars. After looking at many brands I really liked the tiguan the best and thought it was the best vehicle for the money. after 8 weeks of ownership i am completely sold on this car and can say it has been great in our New England winter so far with the all wheel drive. The sunroof, although not really used yet, is incredible as it the handling. Check this vehicle out!"

"I am very happy with the car so far!!! I?ve only had it for about 2 weeks, so I can?t talk much about reliability, but so far ? very happy! While shopping I looked at Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Rav4 and even Nissan Murano and at the end I?m very happy with my choice. Yes, it is a little more expensive than the average in the class, but it?s worth every penny to me. It handles wonderfully and responds fast. 4 Motions systems was able to handle the snow and rain EASILY (I mean I didn?t even notice any slippage). For me the size is perfect; don?t get it if you?re looking for a full size SUV for a big family. This is a compact SUV, so for a couple or a family with one child it?s perfect. I LOVE the interior! Honda CR-v with its handicap gear shift doesn?t stand a chance. The quality of materials is the nicest I?ve seen in the class. The design is clean and well thought through; all the controls feel right in place. Cruise control is a little different, but not too hard to figure out. Sunroof is amazing. I didn?t get the navigation, but it?s still cool to have the touch screen for all the radio controls! The only downside that I?ve experienced is gas mileage. But I was prepared for this one. I haven?t taken it on the highway for too long yet, but in the city I?ve been getting about 17-18 miles per gallon¿. The seats are very comfortable to me and there is enough legroom in the back seats. I?m happy I didn?t get Rogue and Murano for their bubbly design too. Much better off going with German engineers¿. I get a lot of compliments on the street! Das Auto."
