"I purchases a 2011 Tiguan SEL 4 Motion in June and Have been loving every minute of driving ever since. I first started test driving new SUV's last year, I waited almost a year and could not get the Tiguan out of my mind. When I thought of a new ride I thought of the Tiguan, When I thought of maybe settling and just getting a sedan I could not give up on the Tiguan. So I did not settle, I got a Tiguan and I LOVE it. This SUV has everything I wanted and a few I did not know I wanted but now LOVE (panoramic sunroof, back up camera) I test drove other small SUV and none could compare (for me) to the Tiguan. It has a nice solid smooth ride, easy to handle. Like I said before everything I wanted and more. It is great on the Highway as well as on city streets. The SEL comes equipped with Nav system which is very easy to use (never thought I would use one but I do) The Panoramic sunroof with the sun shade is great on those sunny days when you want the sunroof open but you do not want the sun beating down on you and also keep anything form falling in. The back up camera for parallel parking backing into parking spaces or on a friends LONG and winding driveway is great (never thought I needed it but sure am using it a lot). I never wanted a Big SUV so this fits the bill just big enough good storage (back seats can be moved six inches forward for more cargo space if you need it. It had key-less entry and Push button starter so you can keep your keys in your pocket or gym bag and open and start the car no more juggling shopping bags and looking for my keys. Just put you hand in the door handle and the door opens, Press you foot on the break and push the start and the car starts, hands free Bluetooth for the phone with access to you phone book is a plus, volume buttons on the steering wheel are great as well. Well I that is everything I can think of so, I hope this helps you, and good luck with your search."

"I've had the Tiguan for 6 months and have been nothing but happy with the car. The car drives well, has a great turning radius, MPG is slightly under the rated but I drive over 1k/month for work in a lot of stop and go traffic so not surprising. The windows on this SUV are huge and from my perspective, there is not a single blind spot. The only downside is that on sunny summer days the car gets very hot and takes a little longer to cool down because sun is coming in from every angle. The sun visor that closes off the sun roof has holes in it so it doesn't do a great job keeping the sun out, my only complaint about the car. The interior is what sold me on the car. It looks just as nice as the $$$ SUVs, has a terrific audio/navigation console, the full sunroof is amazing and the backseats are roomy enough for my 6'4" friends (with leg room to spare). The ride is a little harder than my previous cars (VW Passat and Volvo S60) but to be expected with a SUV. I would definitely recommend this car to someone that is in need of a slightly bigger car, but not ready for the full-on 6-seater SUV or mini-van. It is very fun to drive, I feel safe on the road and the sun roof makes even the commute to work a little better."

"I did a bit of research before buying my new Tiguan since I was returning from overseas and couldn't bring either of my two toyotas. I owned Audi's before and knew their 2.0T engine w/6 speed transmisison was a winning combination. So, when the Tiguan was introduced in 09, I dug a little deeper, did the math and basically bought an Audi, dressed as a VW. Same engine/transmission. The rest is cosmetic. And I saved 12K in the process since the new A4 was 37K and my Tiguan came in at 24K. Two years later and all is well. Very peppy, runs like new and both exterior and interior are like new. Oh, did I forget to mention the free maintenance for the first 3 years. Yeah, VW is a bit more expensive but you have to factor in all those extras. So, to keep this short, I fully recommend a Tiguan to anyone who wants a small SUV that gets 28 mpg religiously. Myself, I went for the S model since I didn't think an extra 5K was worth the price for nav/sunroof and and extra inch on the tires. Give it a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised..."

"I love my 2011 VW Tiguan. I've not had a car with a turbo before and the pep and acceleration are a joy on the highway. The car is nimble and can quickly negotiate traffic snarls and big trucks. The interior is very nice--I did NOT get leather and every on who rides in the car comments on the room and the styling. The back seat is particularly comfortable. Others have commented on the lack of room but after two trips--one with a week's worth of gear and three dogs--I have no complaints. Much better than CRV or RAV IMO."

"I was raised to be proud of American automobiles through and through, as many of us were. I owned a '91 Toyota Corolla for my first car, then a Dodge Dakota, Dodge Stratus, Dodge Ram, and finally a VW Jetta. I instantly fell in love my with my Jetta, so when it came time to sell my wife's Toyota Solara, we decided to look at the Toyota RAV4 and the VW Tiguan. We looked at a fully loaded Tiguan SE and a fully loaded RAV4. The Tiguan was about $5k more than the RAV4, but after driving them, there was no comparison. The interior build quality was astounding. Even the few plastic bits felt so much more solid than any of the American vehicles my friends, family, or myself have owned. I've had plenty of experience with GM vehicles (which is all one friend and step-father would buy), Ford (in-laws), Chrysler (my family), Toyota (in-laws again), and Honda (more friends), and none of them could stand up to the value for the money as Volkswagens. The Tiguan was $5k more, but came with so many more features like the panoramic sunroof, the touchscreen sat-nav, satellite radio, heated side view mirrors, and too many others to list here. Again, the build quality just felt solid. The dash was not a cheap plastic, the seats, while not real leather, felt much better than the fake leather seats of my mother's Saturn Aura of the same price. The same could be said for the exterior. The doors always shut solid (very little road noise), the panel gaps were all very tight and very even, the body panels weren't flimsy, and the paint was of high quality and finish. I was a little concerned about a larger vehicle with a little 4 cylinder engine, but that 2.0 turbo really has some pep for such a large vehicle. It's much more responsive than my wife's old Solara and could give my Jetta's 2.5L 5-cylinder a run for its money. VW advertised that it would obtain 19mpg city and 21mpg highway, but I'm here to tell you that's a lie. I'm consistently getting about 21mpg city and 24mpg highway, including when traveling 79mph through Nebraska and Colorado. I actually hit 25mpg when traveling through Wisconsin with its 65mph interstate speed limits (I was doing 69mph). We were able to fit 1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small suitcase in the rear with the privacy cover down completely and without having to fold any seats. When we laid the rear seats down, we could fit about 2 times more than that without sticking up far enough to be seen in the rear view mirror. Also, the back seats were very spacious. My 6'3" brother-in-law was able to sit behind me (6'0") in the driver's seat without hitting his knees on my seat and without me having to scoot my seat forward. I was astonished by the rear leg room of a smaller SUV like this. Ours came with the 18" wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber. I was very surprised to see that VW put Pirellis on their vehicles from the factory. That right there spoke volumes to me. The wheels look great and doesn't leave massive spaces between the tires and wheel wells. My in-laws had their mind set that Toyota was what we should have gone with, but when they saw and experienced our Tiguan for the first time, they changed their mind. My mother has already stated she is getting a VW or Audi when she gets rid of her Saturn. I can honestly say that after switching from American to VW, I don't see us switching away from VW for a long time. We are now a VW only family and couldn't be happier. I strongly recommend this vehicle."

"After 3 years of driving a Volvo I decided to go back to VW. The Tiguan has already exceeded my expectations after only a few weeks. I've driven sedans my whole live and had some apprehensions about moving to a SUV but the transitions has been easy and it is extremely fun to drive. The exterior is solid, has amazing turning radius and from what I can tell, very minimal blind spots. I don't have any issue fitting into tight parking spaces... the Tiguan is actually the same width as my last sedan which really surprised me. Hands down the best feature is the panoramic sunroof... my friends and family are all in awe even from the backseat! The interior has everything you could possibly want in terms of gadgets and having stereo/phone/nav controlled through the steering wheel makes it easier to keep your eyes on the road. The front seats are very roomy, not quite as plush as some of the luxury models but I drive 100+ miles/day and think they're still comfortable at mile 100. I wish the SE model came with full power seats but the hand lever is easy to maneuver. I have very tall passengers most of the time (over 6'2") and for once they can comfortably sit in the back without me having to move the driver seat to the dash! Going from a 6 to 4 cylinder is taking a little adjustment, but the Tiguan definitely has pick-up on the highway. I'm finding the breaks to be a lot more sensitive than previous VW models where you really had to push the pedal to stop quickly. I feel incredibly safe in the vehicle and feel well protected behind the heavy doors. Overall I think the car was worth the slightly higher price tag and couldn't be happier with my choice in the Tiguan. All I can say is it is good to be back to VW."

"I leased my Tiguan a few months ago, and I really enjoy it. The build quality is excellent, the features are impressive and I love the style. Best features, being able to open the panoramic sunroof and close the sunscreen, open air, but no blinding sun. I also like that I can fold the front seat flat, so I can haul around long items. Purchased the car for work, and it's meeting my expectations. I wish for a manual transmission with all the bells and whistles, or even the DSG transmission. Also wish for a TDI engine, but not until the next model cycle. All in all, I'm very pleased!"

"VW models have no competitors in their price range, while American mentality steel need to realize that neither Honda, Nor Toyota can?t be considered cars within philosophy of German engineering. Tiguan is the best expression of my words, If you drive it ones, you will never even think about Japanese manufacturers, at the same time, car provides with luxury and handling of BMW X3, and Audi Q5, with 60% of their price. I recommend, no one will be disappointed."

"Love the styling and all the options. The panoramic sun roof is great and i love the Nav system, touch screen radio and heated seats. They are great on those chilly mornings. The fuel mileage is good for an Suv if you drive it sensibly yet it has impressive power on the highway with the six speed automatic and 2.0 turbo. Take one for a test drive and be as impressed as i am."

"I've had Audi's, Volvo's, Honda's and they've all been nice cars but I'm really enjoying the Tiguan. It's my first SUV of any kind and it's GREAT! Comfortable, fun to drive, great handling and with the turbo no lack of power. Great interior finishes and plenty of room even for tall people in the back seat. I'm a happy guy with my Tiguan!!!"
