"I have only owned my car for a month, but so far I am very happy with it. I think it is too early to rate performance, value for money and relability. The only reason I gave a lesser than 5 star rating for the exterior design is that I am an avid bicycle fan and yhink that the rack designed for the car is very poor and would require at least two persons to put a bike on it. I am a single person, 5"5" and going on 72 years old. I was hoping for a rear mounted one like I had on my Jeep. I am taking a trip to Florida soon and I believe I will enjoy the car."

"I've had the 2013 Tiguan now for 2 months and the new car shine is wearing off quickly. The Tiguan is under powered and lacks any quick response during driving. Gets poor gas mileage compared to EPA est. 18 vs. 23. To top it off the 4 Motion control can't tell the difference between a steep hill and unsafe driving conditions. It takes over control of the vehicle and slows down for no reason. Not a vehicle to take into the mountains. It does have a nice and comfy interior - the only saving grace to the car."

"My wife and I bought this car in Oct of 2012. We purchased the SEL model. The ride is much stiffer, sporty, than the SE or S model because of the larger wheels that come on the SEL models. Overall, we really like the car, but if you want a smoother ride, choose the SE or S series. My only real complaint is the ride. Nicely equiped, great looking, great pick up, great Xion adjusting headlights"

"Ready to buy a new "Crossover"? Looking at the Honda CR-V, the Toyota Versa, the Mini Cooper Countryman, Subaru Outback, even the Land Rover LR-4 - the clear choice was the Volkswagen Tiguan. Funny name, but a really clean, tight solid vehicle. This Turbo Charged 2.0 4 cylinder is quick enough and frugal enough with gas consumption that pleases any foot & any wallet. Most impressively, this vehicle put together in Wolfsburg Germany is far superior to any of the other models we considered. Simple answer is get this, not that. The ride is smooth, solid, comfortable and sporty!"
