Vehicles Affected: Approximately 18,000 model-year 2010-12 Porsche Panamera S, Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo hatchbacks, model-year 2011-12 Panamera and Panamera 4 hatchbacks, and model-year 2011 Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo SUVs

The Problem: Camshaft controllers may come loose inside the engine, possibly resulting in an engine stall and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Porsche will replace the fastening screws for the camshaft adjusters for free.

What Owners Should Do: Porsche did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 800-767-7243, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
