Volkswagen is aiming to become a mainstream player in the U.S. market and the 2011 Jetta is the initial salvo for that strategy. The new Jetta is more affordable and larger than its predecessor, now featuring an exceptionally large trunk and good rear legroom, according to Cars.com editor Mike Hanley. Still, the Jetta’s “more-for-less” strategy has cheapened the interior, which may be unacceptable for some hardliner Volkswagen owners.
