We just finished driving both versions of the all-new Kia Sorento SUV, which went on sale this month, and came away decently impressed — a full review is in the works — but we’re a little surprised that there’s $1,000 in cash back on it through Feb. 1.
The 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe was updated and went on sale this month as well. In fact, we just found out about its new, more fuel-efficient engines just last week. Yet it, too, has $1,000 in cash back through Feb. 1.
Do these cash-back offers mean the two brands have little faith in these models? Not at all. In fact, both should sell well for their respective nameplates. It seems, however, that the two have been known to put cash back on new models to gain interest rather than go through massive ad pushes like we’ve seen recently for the Kia Soul and Hyundai Genesis coupe.
