The problem: The engine may exhibit reduced power on acceleration after long periods of driving in wet conditions. The problem will continue until the engine is turned off and restarted. Additionally, an engine-warning message will display in the instrument cluster and the malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate. The problem may be caused by inconsistencies in vehicle calibration, combined with moisture entering the engine through the air intake system.
Corrective action: Dealers will replace the front air intake filter behind the front bumper cover.
Warranty info: This repair is covered under the new-car warranty (four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first).
