When Buick's new compact crossover, the 2013 Encore, goes on sale early next year, it will have an EPA fuel economy rating of 25/33/28 mpg city/highway/combined, according to GM.
That's the best fuel economy rating of any gas-only Buick; the Buick Regal and LaCrosse with eAssist outperform it, though. The Encore's rating is for the front-wheel-drive model. No word yet on figures for the all-wheel-drive model.
The Encore's gas mileage numbers are a little better than the 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman with an automatic transmission (25/30/27 mpg).
The Buick crossover is powered by a single powertrain: a 140-horsepower, turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic transmission.
