Although there won't be many changes for the 2019 model year on the pickup truck side of Nissan's product lineup, there will be one very loud, and very familiar, addition to the Titan and Titan XD.
The new sound system is called the Fender Premium Audio System, and this is the first time it will be offered for any pickups in the U.S.; previously, it was only available for Volkswagen cars and SUVs. The system offers Fender parent company Panasonic's proprietary Acoustic Motion Control, which is designed to stabilize each speaker and reduce vibration in order to provide a clearer, more pronounced sound experience for all occupants.
The new sound system uses 12 speakers in Titan crew-cab models and 10 speakers in King Cabs, with peak amplifier power reaching 485 watts via nine channels. Pricing and trim availability have not yet been finalized and announced, but Nissan did say it would be available on select trim levels this fall. We're guessing we'll get more details next week at the 2018 State Fair of Texas and we'll pass them along when we get them.
