The new 2021 Cadillac Escalade is hopefully heading to showrooms in the summer, and the brand has just announced that the starting price for the regular Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV will rise by just $1,000 apiece. The new regular model will arrive with a starting price of $77,490, including a destination charge, while the longer ESV will come in at $80,490.

As with other new Cadillacs, the Escalade trim level lineup will follow Cadillac’s “Y” model strategy. It starts at the bottom with the Luxury trim and then branches up a sporty path (Sport and Sport Platinum trims) or a more luxurious path (Premium Luxury and Premium Luxury Platinum trims).

Cadillac has added considerable standard content for just a $1,000 price increase, including a standard 38-inch diagonal curved organic light-emitting diode dashboard and gauge display, enhanced navigation with augmented reality and street view features, 22-inch wheels, a 19-speaker AKG audio system and a high-definition surround vision camera system. All that comes in a new structure that dramatically boosts interior passenger and cargo space, and rides on a new independent rear suspension, which should significantly improve the Escalade’s ride and handling.

Optional equipment will include things like a rear-seat entertainment system with twin 12.6-inch HD displays in the front seatbacks, a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system, Cadillac’s novel Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, the fantastic Magnetic Ride Control electronic suspension and an adaptive air suspension system. As with the new 2021 GMC Yukon, you have a choice of powertrains that include a 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 or a 277-hp, turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine, both with 10-speed automatic transmissions and optional four-wheel drive.

More From Cars.com:

The new 2021 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV still don’t have a firm on-sale date, and we’re not sure that’s likely to change soon given that production at GM plants is currently idle as the nation deals with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The original date of “summer 2020” is still the last we’ve heard from the company on its plans to introduce the new SUV.
