Genesis’ flagship G90 sedan gets revised for 2023 with a styling update, new engine and suspension, as well as some added tech features and a big price hike. The 2023 G90 now comes standard with all-wheel drive for both of its trims, and it starts at $89,495 (all prices include destination) — over $10,000 more than the outgoing base model when optioned with AWD.

What does that price hike get you? For starters, a new engine. The entry-level G90 3.5T AWD model uses a new turbocharged 3.5-liter engine that makes 375 horsepower; it’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It replaces the outgoing options, a standard 365-hp, twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 and available 420-hp, 5.0-liter V-8.

Aside from a full suite of driver-assistance and active-safety features, Genesis says new standard suspension technology will improve ride quality and handling. The camera-based electronically controlled suspension with road preview monitors road conditions to optimize the suspension for passenger comfort. Also new and standard is Mood Curator, which enables customization and control of features like ambient lighting, the sound system, the fragrance system and massaging seat settings. Four different mood modes are available and each can be personalized. And the Digital Key system, also standard, uses a smartphone app that lets the driver unlock and start the vehicle by simply touching the door handle.

The other trim for 2023 is the 3.5T AWD that adds a 48-volt electric supercharger to bump horsepower up to 409 hp; it starts at $99,795. This trim adds extras such as the 3D surround sound function that uses a Bang & Olufsen system to optimize musical themes. Power rear seats, rear-seat wireless device charging, a rear-wheel steering system and an air suspension with three settings to improve stability depending on conditions come standard.

The 2023 Genesis G90 goes on sale Aug. 10.
