2024 Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition Commemorates the Insanity That Was

With its supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 engine being sent off to the parts catalog in the sky (and in your mailbox), the Ram 1500 TRX will cease production after the 2024 model year. To commemorate this absurd period in automotive history in which two of Detroit’s big automakers offered 700-plus-horsepower pickups, Ram will build up to 4,000 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 – Final Edition trucks in addition to the regular TRX production run.

Unlike the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 that celebrated the end of the Hellcat in Dodge’s muscle car with 1,025 hp, the Final Edition doesn’t get any additional power from the factory. Output holds firm at 702 hp and 650 pounds-feet of torque, which some people might argue is sufficient for a truck weighing nearly three-and-a-half tons.

It’s What’s Inside That Counts

What Final Edition buyers get for $119,620 (all prices include destination) is a choice of three exclusive paint colors (as well as the five hues available in the regular-production TRX), satin-titanium beadlock wheels and badges, and unique embroidery and stitching inside. A badge on the center console certifies each truck as a Final Edition and includes its build number.

The Final Edition is otherwise loaded with matte carbon-fiber interior trim, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display, and safety features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors.

For less ambitious buyers, the regular TRX will also be available for 2024. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but the 2023 model started just above $87,000.

Hellcat Dead, TRX Not

While the end of the Hellcat means the end of the TRX in its current form, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis says “it’s not the end of the TRX’s story.” Stellantis got a lot of mileage and plenty of headlines out of the Hellcat. We’re excited to see what equivalent the company has in store for the era of electrification.
