2025 Subaru WRX tS: A Handling Package for the WRX

Subaru has yet to release full details on the 2025 WRX, but our first look is what will likely be the most performance-focused variant. In Subaru parlance, tS stands for “tuned by STI.” The 2025 Subaru WRX tS features suspension and brake upgrades, as well as unique exterior and interior styling cues.

What Lies Beneath
The 2025 WRX tS rides on a revised suspension featuring electronically controlled dampers, which were previously only available on the range-topping WRX GT. Drivers can select from three modes for the dampers: Comfort, Normal and Sport. The tS also includes high-performance Brembo brakes with larger rotors and pads, as well as six-piston front and two-piston rear calipers. Bridgestone Potenza S007 performance tires are wrapped around satin-gray 19-inch wheels, which make the gold-painted Brembo calipers pop.

What’s Inside
As with the 2024 WRX TR, the current lineup’s star athlete, the moonroof of the tS is deleted to free up headroom for helmeted drivers and lower the car’s center of gravity. Recaro sport seats are standard and upholstered in black synthetic suede with blue accents. Blue accents also adorn the door panels, steering wheel and shifter trim. Subaru says the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel is all-new and puts navigation instructions right in front of the driver.
Also like the TR, the engine of the tS is unchanged. The turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four-cylinder makes 271 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque.

Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Subaru WRX tS will make its public debut June 2 at Wicked Big Meet. Held annually in Stafford, Conn., Wicked Big Meet is the country’s largest Subaru fan festival and kicks off a series of such events.
With its list of enhancements so similar to those made to the 2024 WRX TR, as well as the BRZ tS, it looks as if tS has won out in the branding battle. Subaru has not yet announced pricing for the 2025 WRX tS, but it will likely land close to the current TR’s $42,775 (including destination).
