Earlier today, we came across a blog post about Clarion’s funky looking aftermarket stereo that you can see here. While it has plenty of features you’d want in a car stereo, like a USB port, Bluetooth and of course a CD deck, the most interesting part is its looks and customizable lighting. The white and peach color scheme may be off-putting for some but it made us wonder why someone hasn’t come along to simplify and add real design touches to car stereos for the aftermarket. We won’t hold our breath for the car companies to upgrade stock models, but why are we still staring at black and grey bars? Maybe Apple will expand its product line to tackle the in-car market, LCD screens, funky color assortment and all. We’ve already heard about them teaming with VW to offer some sort of customized entertainment system. What do you think? Would an iPod aftermarket unit sell?
