Here Is How Much These 6 Discontinued Cars Are Being Discounted
Key Points
- Dealers across the country are still sitting on thousands of leftover new models that have been discontinued over the last year.
- Many of these leftover models have huge discounts as dealers try to sweeten the price for buyers so they can make room for newer inventory.
Automakers have been discontinuing cars left and right. From electric vehicles to SUVs and everything in between, the reasons production stops for these models vary. Sales is often the culprit, with some models just not selling at expected rates. Other times, it’s things automakers can’t control, such as tariffs or increasing costs of materials. When these model cancellations happen, dealers are often left sitting with inventory until supplies of that model run out.
Wanting to make way for newer models, dealers will often heavily discount discontinued cars to sell them. To save shoppers in the market for a new car some time, we’ve gathered a few examples of discontinued models with discounts. It’s important to keep in mind, however, that the dealer list price may not fully reflect discounting, and the MSRPs listed below do not include destination, taxes or other fees. Deals may vary depending on region, too, so be sure to check with your local dealership.
Acura TLX
- Average MSRP: $50,332
- Average discount: $860
Acura seems to be getting out of the business of making sedans, as the discontinuation of the TLX sports sedan for 2026 leaves the brand’s lineup with the Integra as the sole four-door. It’s easy to see why Acura threw in the towel on the TLX, though; just over 8,000 were sold in all of 2025.
With sales so low, our data shows that there are less than 700 TLXs left at dealers across the country as of Jan. 1. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem dealers are in any hurry to sell these leftovers, as few are discounting them; the average discount off sticker is $860.

Ford F-150 Lightning
- Average MSRP: $74,255
- Average discount: $8,717
Ford’s F-150 Lighting was a big deal for the automaker when it was released for 2022 as an electric version of the bestselling vehicle in America, and it was a massive hit right out of the gate. Unfortunately, Ford’s priorities surrounding EVs have changed recently, and the model has been suddenly discontinued. Not all is lost, however, as Ford has said the truck will return as an range-extended EV.
A ton of F-150 Lightings were made, though, and despite production ending, dealers are still sitting on over 3,000 examples of the electric pickup truck. If you’re in the market for one, some dealers are willing to throw cash on the hoods to move them. Our data shows an average discount of over $8,700 for the Lightning.

Jeep Wagoneer
- Average MSRP: $76,882
- Average discount: $6,350
The Jeep Wagoneer is in a unique situation among other vehicles on this list — it’s not technically discontinued. Jeep brought the Wagoneer name out of mothballs for 2022 for its new full-size SUV lineup to take on established players in the segment. It did this on two fronts: To take on mass-market competitors such as the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and Ford Expedition, there was the Wagoneer, and luxury competitors such as the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade would be taken on by the Grand Wagoneer. A refresh for 2026, however, did away with that plan and brought the whole Wagoneer lineup under one model name, Grand Wagoneer, “discontinuing” the Wagoneer nameplate.
If you’re trying to save a bit of money and are in the market for Jeep’s full-size SUV, there are still just under 800 Wagoneers left on dealer lots. With an average discount of just over $6,000, many Jeep dealers are throwing some serious cash on the hood to move these leftover behemoths.

Kia Soul
- Average MSRP: $24,069
- Average discount: $1,836
Affordable cars have been getting cut out of automaker’s lineups all over the place. Sadly, Kia followed suit in late 2025 when it announced that the compact Soul hatchback wouldn’t be returning for 2026. A staple in the lineup for 16 years, more than 1.5 million examples of the Soul were sold during its three generations.
With production ended, Cars.com data shows there are currently just 2,400 Souls left on Kia lots across the country. If you’re in the market for an affordable car, you can definitely score a sweet deal on a leftover Soul; with an average discount of over $1,800, many that are left are priced under $20,000.

Nissan Versa
- Average MSRP: $22,465
- Average discount: $2,334
The loss of the Nissan Versa was the final blow to the small, affordable car market in the U.S., as the subcompact car was the last new car that buyers could get under $20,000. Despite its affordable price, buying one didn’t mean you ended up with a penalty box. The Versa made our list of the Best New Cars for $30,000 or Less as the best subcompact sedan.
If you’re in the market for a Versa, all isn’t lost. Our data shows over 8,000 are still left at Nissan dealers across the country, and you can likely score a fantastic deal on one, as well. With an average discount of just over $2,300, many of these new Versas can be had for used-car money, with discounted prices under $15,000in some places.

Subaru Legacy
- Average MSRP: $34,152
- Average discount: $1,456
A staple in Subaru’s lineup for over 30 years, Subaru may have shocked some when it announced the Legacy wouldn’t be returning for the 2025 model year. Looking at Subaru’s lineup, it’s easy to see why, as the automaker is known for more popular models like the Crosstrek, Forester and Outback. Sales of the Legacy have suffered over the last few years compared to the automaker’s SUVs; just over 22,000 were sold in 2025.
If you’re still wanting to pick up one of the last of Subaru’s quirky all-wheel-drive sedans, our data shows that there are still about 1,400 left on dealer lots across the country. With an average discount of just over $1,400, many of these Legacys can be had for less than $30,000.
