While some brands capitalize on the blackout trend by offering darkened exterior trim on their hottest offerings, Nissan has seemed to be leveraging the look to move its slow sellers. As of January, the automaker’s Midnight Edition was only available on the Murano and Armada SUVs and Titan pickup truck. Now, though, the Sentra Midnight Edition is back after a one-year hiatus, giving shoppers another flavor of Nissan’s second-bestselling vehicle overall (behind the Rogue), and helping the marque move black paint in meaningful volumes.

What Does the Sentra Midnight Edition Include?

Black paint on the grille, side sills, spoiler and 18-inch wheels are the only differences between the Midnight Edition and top-spec SR. The Midnight Edition is available in monochrome black or in blue, white or dark gray with a black roof, versus the regular the SR’s six solid colors and four two-tone schemes.

Based on the range-topping SR, the Midnight Edition features a full suite of standard safety tech, LED headlights, heated front seats and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s also available with the SR’s Premium Package, which bundles a 360-degree camera system, moonroof, synthetic leather upholstery with red-orange contrast stitching, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated steering wheel and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.

Pricing and Availability

At $26,425 (including the $1,140 destination fee), the Midnight Edition costs just $695 more than the SR, a reasonable sum for a modicum of additional attitude on a compact sedan. The 2025 Nissan Sentra Midnight Edition is on sale now.
