The resulting cost to repair the damage for some of the models was extensive. While Mazda, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai all showed improvement over previous models, Ford’s and Chevy’s redesigned sedans cost more to repair than did previous versions.
The love-taps cost anywhere from $742 (Mazda6) to $3,494 (Chevy Malibu). When weighted, they averaged between $871 (Mazda6) and $2,329 (Chevy Malibu).
