Fast-charging stations were supposed to eliminate long charging times for electric vehicles. The stations, which use a 480-volt direct current, are said to recharge an EV’s battery to 80% capacity in less than 30 minutes, according to Nissan. A few of the stations finally appeared in the Chicago area, but does the dream of quick charging hold up to our real-world tests?
