Nissan is recalling more than 26,400 examples of its Altima and Sentra sedans, Frontier pickup truck and Kicks SUVs over an issue with the door that may cause it to open while the vehicle is moving.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2025 Altimas and Sentras, model-year 2025-26 Frontiers and model-year 2026 Kicks vehicles. The door strikers on these vehicles may not have been welded properly and may break, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion.

To resolve the issue, dealers will replace the door strikers for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 13. Those with questions in the meantime can contact Nissan at 800-647-7261 (Nissan’s numbers for this recall are PD185 and PMA61), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
