Police officials in Harrison, N.Y., announced today they agree with federal regulators that the crash earlier this month involving a 2005 Toyota Prius was the driver’s fault and that nothing was mechanically wrong with the car.

Police Capt. Anthony Marraccini said the gas pedal was depressed all the way but there was no sign the brakes were used prior to the crash.

Investigators still have not reached a final conclusion on a separate incident involving another Prius in California that had to be stopped by police at high speeds.
