Vehicles Affected: Approximately 24,600 model-year 2013-14 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs manufactured between Aug. 16, 2012, and Jan. 8, 2014, and 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUVs manufactured between May 7, 2013, and Jan. 8, 2014

The Problem: In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed; this could cause a hole to be worn into the hose. A hole in the brake vacuum hose could cause complete loss of braking assistance, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Land Rover will notify owners beginning March 13, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it or replace damaged hoses free of charge.

What Owners Should Do: Owners can contact Land Rover at 800-637-6837 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236.
