Recall Alert: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 3,500 2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans and Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups.

The Problem: A contaminated chassis control module could cause an electrical short and the engine to stall at unpredictable times, affecting the trailer brake controls. GM states it is unaware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this issue.

The Fix: Owners will be contacted and directed to a local dealership where the module numbers will be verified and replaced as needed. Affected vehicles on dealership lots will be held unsold and repaired as inventory of the replacement modules are available.
