In October, Toyota will launch a new credit card that will allow users to rack up points to be used toward the purchase of a new car, or to pay for accessories or maintenance. The move is similar to other automaker-branded cards – GM, Chrysler, Subaru, BMW, Mini, VW, Audi, Mercedes and Toyota’s luxury brand, Lexus, also have them – and details about points and how much can be put toward a new vehicle will be revealed closer to the card’s October release date.

We’ve never gone the way of an automotive credit card, but do any of you readers use them? Have you used the points toward a new car? Let us know.
