The Strategy and Business Development Group creates value for Cars.com through internal consulting projects focused towards digital analytics including performance marketing, strategic planning, driving innovation, and developing partnerships.
The Strategy and Business Development team is offering qualified MBA students an opportunity to advance their knowledge and acquire hands-on experience in digital marketing, data analytics, business case development, strategic planning, presentations to senior management and more.
The Summer Associate will have ownership of 1-2 large projects to be delivered by the end of term along with multiple shorter-term initiatives. The position requires the ability to execute projects with limited direction, successfully scale a steep learning curve of both digital and automotive industries, and be able to deliver in a fast paced environment.
Ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, be able to prepare and deliver concise and understandable information, and possess the ability to work effectively in both small groups and independently. Candidate should be well versed in Excel and PowerPoint, and eager to learn about the online automotive marketplace. Excellent project and time management skills required. Knowledge of online advertising and marketing or web analytics is a plus but not required.
Candidate must be positive, professional, and tactful. Prime candidates will be excellent team players. The position requires the ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines. Sound judgment and decision-making skills are required. Uncompromising ethics and attention to detail are vital.
The ability to keep key internal and external participants informed is critical, as the individual will be interacting regularly with co-workers and external partner teams. This interaction will occur via phone, email and in-person, therefore requiring strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
MBA candidate with relevant work experience preferred but not required.
