We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has broad and deep experience with web operations including server automation, cloud computing, server configuration, monitoring and web site troubleshooting.  The position requires the ability to work well with various team members from developers, to business people, as well as be able to work solo on projects and get results.  Proactive and strong ability to learn new things with little guidance. Position calls for working closely with developers, product and QA teams in an agile scrum team.

 

 

 

Required Skills

 

  • On-call – job will require being part of an on-call rotation for 24x7x365 support.
  •  

  • After Hours – job will require after hours work on periodic basis for maintenance events.
  •  

  • Firm understanding and experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and principles
  •  

  • Systems and web security background and experience
  •  

 

 

Required Experience

 

  • 3+ years – Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
  •  

  • 3+ years – Administering monitoring and management tools  (Nagios, Zabbix, dynaTrace, NewRelic, LogStash, Splunk, Keynote, Pingdom, Gomez, etc.)
  •  

  • 3+ years – Managing and administering in cloud computing environment (AWS, Heroku, or Rackspace)
  •  

  • 3+ years – Advanced shell scripting  (bash, Perl, Python)
  •  

  • 2+ years – Managing highly available (99.9%) public facing, front end web servers/web sites, including configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting
  •  

  • 2+ years –  MySQL Database configuration and management
  •  

  • 2+ years – Using server automation technologies (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins)
  •  

  • 2+ years – source control administration with proven understanding of branching and merging. (SVN, GIT)
  •  

  • 1+ years – coding (preferably Ruby)
