This Sales Training manager leads the teams that develop and facilitate the curriculum and training utilized by the sales and dealer training groups. He/she is responsible for developing and implementing a dynamic curriculum for the Sales Process and Products, creating an optimal delivery schedule for both the students and trainers while coordinating associated logistics. The scope of the role includes responsibility for the distance learning function that supports our sales organization across the country.  As such, this position requires a leader with organizational breadth and demonstrated strength in communicating and collaborating across multiple departments and functions.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 Develop and execute a learning strategy and annual action plan that supports the goals of the Cars.com Sales organization.

  • Balance and prioritize the sales organization’s strategic and tactical learning and training needs; create project plans including outlines and timelines based on the needs of the business. 
  •  

  • Develop and manage sales manager skill training .
  •  

  • Review current content/curriculum and apply established instructional design principles to insure all are engaging and effective.
  •  

  • Actively manage and develop a team of up to seven direct reports.
  •  

  • Manage curriculum development and training logistics for sales and dealer training.
  •  

  • Manage all distance learning for sales training.
  •  

  • Create and track learning and development metrics and utilize them to track success
  •  

  • Work closely with other internal training teams to create a community of practice, share best practices and optimize utilization of resources.
  •  

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to including PXT, Operations, Product, Marketing and Sales, to establish core training needs, insure those needs are met and resources are maximized.
  •  

  • Partners with the PXT Leadership Development team on leadership development initiatives to ensure alignment on delivery
  •  

  • Continuously improve performance by leveraging internal & external best practices and lessons learned.
  •  

 

 

 

 

Required Skills

 

  • A proven track record in the field of sales learning and training, to include creation of curriculum and delivery for front line sales reps and managers.
  •  

  • Demonstrated experience with distance/e-learning
  •  

  • Strong communication/facilitation skills and experience working with a clientele of different needs and personalities
  •  

  • Strong organizational skills
  •  

  • Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated success in the learning and development field
  •  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, SABA, and CRM/Salesforce.com.
  •  

 

 

Required Experience

 

 

  • A Bachelors or certification in Adult learning
  •  

  • 3-5 years of experience managing a team of instructional designers and facilitators.
  •  

  • Experience in digital advertising sales and automotive
  •  

  • Experience supporting a predominantly remote Sales team
  •
