    August 03, 2019 "Bait and Switch: Predator and Prey. 6 Hour Ordeal. " - ConcernedColleague I was looking for a 2019 Elantra Sport. A couple of dealers... close to me had it in stock but not the color I wanted, so I made the drive of over an hour to Russell Westbrook of Anaheim because they seemed like they were honest over the phone. Once I got there, things started off great and friendly....test drove the car..friendly chit chat..but how quickly things changed. After the test drive and the friendly conversation. The shady tactics immediately began. I repeatedly told the salesman over and over that I wanted everything clear and transparent as far as vehicle price and out the door price. What do they do? They play the monthly payment game with me. " How much do you want your payment to be? " I already knew this was a shady tactic. But I played along. A man's character is worth more to me than any dollar amount. So I let the salesman do his thing. We do the back and fourth as he goes to his manager. Comes back. Goes to his manager. Comes back. This happens about 5 times. He comes back the 5th time and there is " service agreement " now worked into the pricing. So I asked him what is it ? He told me it was an extended warranty. I told him Hyundai has the best warranty in the Auto industry and I didn't want it. He responds with : "I can't get your payment to where you want it if you don't get the warranty and help me out. " ( Basically make his commission higher. ) I chuckle to myself inside and let him do his thing. They basically were playing the let's make the customer tired game and they will cave. This dealership is ridiculous. Mind you I have bought many many cars over the years and personally I work in sales myself. So this was fun for me to observe. We finally get to a payment that works for me and mind you, I still haven't seen what the total price is on the car and anything else that's added on top of the vehicle. At this point we have been at the dealer about 4 hours now. I see the camera in the corner of the ceiling so I know they are watching me from the almighty mirrored managers office. Give me a break. I actually don't see the final numbers until it's just about closing and I'm in the finance managers office. In the final contract there was a KARR alarm system I wasn't told about that was over 1300 dollars. A 3M clear sticker that was 595. The " Warranty " at over 1400 dollars. Mind you, all of the additions caused my payment to be 60 dollars more a month than it needed to be. That's worth it to me to see a dealer and a man's true colors. I told them I didn't want any of it, they told me they couldn't do the deal if they took all of the above items off...I know right?! The shady keeps coming. LOL. They said the alarm was pre installed and they couldn't uninstall it. Wow. Having bought cars before I already knew they could just disable it if they wanted too. But they didn't, instead they assumed I was dumb and wouldn't put up much of a fight. I didn't. Not because I'm dumb, but rather I wanted to see how desperate this dealer was to make a profit, I wanted to see how far this dealer would take things. I walked out of there feeling like I had been f****d without lube. I would have told everyone I knew to come buy their new Hyundai here. Instead I have already told 15 people not to come here. I'm sure those 15 people have told more people and so on and so on. What is the lesson here folks? An honest sale keeps more sales coming. A pipeline and book of business that is consistently lasting. This dealer won't have that. Not with my salesman anyways. Wish I would have worked with Oscar. I didn't. I already called the provider of the extended service agreement and they told me I could cancel it at anytime through the dealer. Which I will do. I will post updates with anymore shady games they attempt with me. After that, it's a direct visit to consumer relations at corporate in Fountain Valley.

    The rudest care services I’ve ever had. It was the first time my mom and I came here for maintenance. I drove into the waiting line and nobody came to... help. A lot of the workers saw me in the car waiting and walked away. I had to get out after a while and asked for help myself. The lady I asked just say “go to the office”. After getting inside the office, my mom and I were awkwardly standing there alone because the lady took the car key and went to the car alone to take pictures and look inside the car. At Toyota, we stand there as they do outside checking and ask for which kind of services. The lady came back, printed a paper out and said “the next available advisor will help you”. We stood there awkwardly again, but this time i felt more angry, because there are 3 free advisors. I guess they just decided to let an old woman and her daughter stand there waiting. The Alex guy was fine, but it was the lady that check our car at the beginning annoys me more. I honestly feel bad if that’s how all Hyundai care services work. I wish I could give this service center a negative star.

    My previous car was totaled in an accident and I was really dreading having to go car shopping. My daughter had recently purchased a used 2016 Hyundai... Sonata and I loved her car.. so I decided I would look for a similar car. I sent emails to a couple of dealers letting them know what I was looking for and my price range and Frank at Hardin Hyundai was one that responded letting me know that he was pretty sure he could make it work for me. The entire experience all the way to the Finance department was absolutely the most pleasurable experience I have ever had purchasing a car. I was treated with the utmost of respect. Customers matter to them. They want you to come back for all your future car purchases and that is what I intend to do. And I LOVE my 2016 Hyundai Sonata SE. It makes you want to drive all day.

    I had the worse experience buying a vehicle at Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Anaheim. I purchased a 4Runner from their used inventory after searching for... a specific trim and color I wanted. They were the only ones near my house that had it. When I submitted my inquiry on TrueCar.com I got a ton of calls and emails requesting to speak with me. I communicated through text and agreed to go see the car on a Thursday night after we had negotiated the price. It took me 5 days to get the get the car after I visited the dealer and signed the contract. A few things that irritated me and made this experience a horrible one. 1. The price posted on TrueCar was misleading. They claimed one price on the website and then they charged an additional $400 for a paint protection that was not optional because they had already put it on the car. If you already added it to the car and it cannot be removed, then include it in the price of the car! 2. We negotiated a final price and I specifically asked for a final price including all fees and when I get to the dealer they charge me an extra $85 documentation fee and another $50 fee that should have been included in the final price. 3. The sales person did not have the answers to my questions. Does the car come with mats? “ugh, I don’t know” Can I see the inspections you performed on the vehicle “I don’t have it.” 4. I waited 3 hours to get out of there even though I was not getting any financing. All I needed was for them to sell me the vehicle and provide me with a purchase order so that I could have my bank wire the funds the next day. The paperwork took like 10-15 min, the rest was just waiting and waiting. And they refused to give me copies of anything I signed until all the funds cleared. 5. While I was waiting I could hear the other representatives on the phone with other customers. One representative hung up with a customer then began to complain on how stupid the person was and how she was crazy if she thought they would speed things up for her. From what I could here she too was waiting for the delivery of her vehicle. 6. The next day, I tried (for 4 hours) to get a hold of someone because my bank needed an additional document to finalize the loan, I started calling at 7am and I could not get a hold of someone until noon. By this time it was too late for my bank to process the payment and I had to wait until the following Monday to process the payment. They were so eager to get me in there in the first place but ignore the xxxx out of me after I had made the purchase. 7. Communication after the purchase was just horrible. I could not take the car until my check for the deposit and my wire had cleared. Every other dealer I visited when I was searching for the car gave you an option to take the car and you had 7 days to find financing. This dealer not only does not allow you to take the car (even with a $14,000 deposit and a bank’s approval letter) but chargers you an extra fee if you want the option to return the vehicle after 48 hours with an added restocking fee. Every other place I visited had some sort of tolerance period included. 8. When I picked up the vehicle the seats had not been washed as promised, they did not provide the copy of the vehicle inspection as promised, the car was missing the mats and no one could tell he how I was going to get them. After I refused to leave until I had answers I was promised that they would email me the inspection the following day and mail the mats to me. Two weeks later, I still haven’t’ received any of the two. Overall, the service was awful and I would have walked away from the moment I got to the dealer but I had already spend a couple of weeks searching for this vehicle. I will never buy from them again and I hope those of you who read this review don’t visit them and look for other options.

    I don't even know where to begin. The whole process started out pleasant enough, then went down hill from there. Long drive and two trips to the dealership... only to sit there and do nothing. We finally left. The sales staff were all nice enough before the sale, but after you might as well forget they even exist if you need something. They ended up delivering the car and signing the paperwork in my home with a promise they would mail us the documents. 10 days and still nothing. They delivered the car filthy, no left headlight, front license plate laying in the back seat. No owners manual as promised. Still making calls. Half the time no one answers. Impossible getting through to the finance department. Sales people just say they are going to check on things and it ends there. I still do not know if the car is financed or through who. I have not received any copies of paper work or the owners manual they promised to send. So if you go here just pray you will never need anything else from them after you drive off. You're only as important as what money they can get out of you, because you become nonexistent after you leave.

    ** Buyer beware ** My wife and I were confronted and yelled at by Fred Angiuli, Hyundai Finance & Sales Manager, during final car purchase negotiations... ** This is the most unprofessional car dealership I have experienced. In summary, Fred Angiuli, Sales Manager, yelled at my wife and I for trying to get a good deal. My wife and I obtained a price quote via e-mail and agreed to meet w/ the internet sales lead. We met w/ on a Tuesday afternoon on 10/30 around 6:30 PM (The day before Halloween). Fast forward to 8:30PM; after 2 hours of test driving the car, negotiating sales price, and looking at financing, my wife and I agreed upon a number w/ the internet lead. We were ready to make the sale. The internet lead calls us into the main office and we're greeted by Fred Angiuli, sales manager. Fred Angiuli, Sales Manager, proceeds to question why we are paying such a low price for the car, states my wife and I do not understanding the terms of purchase (as we initially had a price quote via e-mail), and proceeds to upcharge the final price by an additional amount. My wife requests to waive the upcharge. Fred, Sales Manager, is furious we are requesting for a discount. He retorts, "You know the price you're paying, you're not getting this discount. Don't play your pregnant card too. Drop that act." After this comment, Fred proceeds to and yell at my wife and I in front of his entire team. Fred, Sales Manager, proceeds to explain why we are not entitled to a discount. Looking at my home address and the location of this dealership, Fred feels we've traveled "far" coming to his dealership. Furthermore, it's close to month-end, it's the day before Halloween, and it's almost closing time. He retorts, "Your timing is perfect and don't act like you don't know you're getting a good deal. Stop playing the dumb card." My wife is puzzled why Fred is so angry and then asks for his name to try to ask him questions. Fred retorts in a condescending way, "I'm Fred. This [associate] is [name], this [associate] is [name], this [associate] is [name], this [associate] is [name]." He says the names of all of his staff in the same room as us (keep in mind they are not involved in this conversation, just looking at us). And adds, "any other questions you have? So can we make the sale?" Fred is still furious we're asking for a discount. Fred then adds a backhand comment, "I've given you this great price. And during this entire conversation you haven't even thanked me. Where is my thank you?" My wife and I then proceed to refuse the purchase. We then say we feel we're being attacked by Fred and being talked down by him. He says, "You only say I'm talking down to you because of the price. If the price was now the initial agreed upon, then you'd say I am a nice guy." More on this later. He apologizes but in a very condescending and non-authentic way (Note - he doesn't keep eye contact during this apology, but during his entire confrontation, he keeps eye contact). My wife then says she would've preferred some transparency in terms of the price instead of upcharging us at the last minute. In essence, we've wasted 2 hours and did not eat dinner. Fred retorts back, "Stop playing the [pregnancy] card already. If food is the issue then we'll pick something up for you!!!" We left the dealership in disgust. -- Fred's final comment, summarized, "If the price is right, then I wouldn't be a mean guy. I'd be a nice guy." This is completely untrue. I would NOT make the purchase because of Fred's hostile attitude. Once he started to attack us I did not feel comfortable making the purchase (Regardless of the price). My trust in him and the dealership was thrown out the window.

    Emailed about a car, got response back that Kari would love to show the car, emailed back when we would be there, got back response that car would be... ready when we got there in 30 minutes. Got there, Kai not available, but worse the car was in pieces in the back lot, no where near ready to show or sell... horrible experience after taking time to drive through traffic to get there

    Terrible customer service, from the staff all the way up to management. I put a deposit on a car only to eventually learn the car had been sold to somebody... else. I discovered this not from the dealership, but rather by calling Hyundai customer service myself because I could not get an answer from the dealer. I then spent the next 2 weeks trying to get answers to why this happened and some solutions to the problem, both to no avail. The few times I was actually able to talk to somebody I was not shown great customer service whatsoever. I was hung up on by an employee and another time I had a manager argue with me about whether or not he called me 4 days prior. I told him there was neither a call nor a voicemail from the dealer's phone number or his cell phone. Even after I told him this, he did not relent. I eventually bought a car from another dealer after it became apparent that the staff was not going to be at all helpful in finding another car. Save yourself a month's worth of aggravation and skip this dealership.

    Even after I was very clear I didn’t want them to waste my time, I drove two hours, then waited one more hour for them to have a used car ready for me... to test drive. My salesman and the manager were nowhere to be found after that last hour, so we just left. Never received a call or anything asking us why we left. Must not need the business. Waste of time.
