My trust was misplaced and viewed as weakness. I assume this is why you should never trust certain Car Dealerships. In other words, if I had been treating... them like unethical crooks watching their every move and rechecking their every statement this may not have happened to me. Instead I made the mistake of treating them like I wanted to be treated.
Helped a friend purchase a used vehicle. The process to an agreed price went smoothly. Once in finance my friend was told of an extended warranty that... would only cost a very minimal monthly amount. However, after the deal was made we realized that those little charges would add up to $3500 for the policy. She decided it was something she no longer wanted. When I called on her behalf to find out how she could cancel I was talked to in a very rude and unprofessional manner. The finance manager was horrible when all I did was ask what the policy was for terminating. I have bought many cars in my time BUT will never refer another friend to this dealership. No one should be treated in such a manner.
I was really nervous about buying a car, but in desperate need of something that I could rely on. My godmother recommended Automax Hyundai as a great place... to buy a new car. Her youngest daughter has purchased from them, as well as her Son-in-law and his wife -who researched a lot of cars before they made their choice. I don't live in Norman, OK, so I worked long distance to buy the car. First, I talked to Cyndy to begin the process. We emailed back and forth. She always responded quickly and answered all of my questions. As I told her about what I was looking for, and about how much I might be able to pay we narrowed down to the car the would suit me best. Believe it or not, I learned that I could get better financing on a new car than a used one in the same price range. Cyndy got me pre-approved which was a relief. ( It would have been a huge disappointment to have had my hopes up and then not have qualified.) When I arrived at the dealership, Sonja treated me like royalty making sure I had something to drink and even feeding me lunch since she knew I had traveled a long distance to arrive at the dealership. Michael did his "magic" to get me the best financing, rate, term and economic protection that he could. He explained each part of the process and even gave me a tip on ways to boost my credit score in the future. Afterwards, Sonja and I took the car out for a drive so I could get familiarized with the car. I am very happy with my new 2014 Accent. I drove about 700 miles to travel back home. There were times when I was getting 42.2 mpg and Hyundai only quoted 40mpg as the top fuel efficiency. I only stopped for gas twice. That was cheaper than the one-way airline ticket I had used to get there. The people at AutoMax Hyundai Norman took away the scary & the ugly things I have heard about buying a car and made my experience a joy.
Flew to Norman from Cleveland, OH to purchase a vehicle they had online. The salesman was wonderful and picked me up and took me back to the airport. From... there it was all down hill. I was ready to negotiate a price, but the sales manager gave me a take it or leave it at the Internet price. I left it and got driven back to the airport. Then last night the salesman started texting me about a better price. This morning I got more text. I thanked him, but the sales manager left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wouldn't consider buying a bicycle from them if they sold them.
This is my fourth Hyundai I have purchased from Automax and more specifically, Tim Tae. I don't get the normal dealership run around. I get the lowest... price after researching and making the offer. I never have to wait long to go through the sales and finance part of the deal. Tim has been there for years and I can contact him for anything. He is no pressure. I have sent many friends to him and he does right by them also. It is nice knowing that he is loyal to his dealership and his product.
BJ Marsh in internet sales and Rick Dunn at the store did an excellent job helping us find a car we are thrilled with. Highly recommend.
BEWARE the purchase of a previously owned vehicle!!! We were told the vehicle was in excellent condition. With 150,000 miles, they could have said - you... might need brakes or minor repairs soon, that would be understandable. Our trusted mechanic put brakes, struts, upper control arm for $1500. The key and fob cost $100 at the Ford dealership, instead of the $28 the salesman quoted. That wasn't the worst part. Our mechanic told us there was NO spare tire. AutoMax allowed me to drive 200 miles at night, in the cold rain (March) with no spare tire. And no wheel lock key to take off the tires. They could have said, let us refer you to a local tire shop since this "as is" vehicle does not include a spare tire. And no response from the emails and letters I wrote about these issues.
I bought a car from Rick Dunn. It was a great experience. He did not talk down to me because I'm a woman. The next time I buy a car I will buy one from... Rick.
I went to most of the used car dealerships on the mile and automaxs' customers service was by far the best! Lauren was helping us and she really listened... to what we were looking for. She didn't try to pressure us into "just buying new instead" like every other dealership did. They took our trade in and I feel like we got a very fair deal. And almost just as importantly, everyone was so sweet and accommodating to my two kids who were not fans of car shopping lol. I will be recommending automax and Lauren to anybody who is looking to buy a car
I have had the pleasure of buying 4 cars in the last 3 years from this dealership - all for various reasons/needs, and all have worked out beautifully.... Good service, quality products - what more could a buyer want? Excellence all the way around - and worth the stop in Norman, OK!!
